Located in the now temporarily not seedy building of Cuppage Plaza, sits Ebi Bar at Basement 1. Ebi Bar brings along a Japanese twist of the local favourite, Prawn Mee. The broth of the Prawn Mee takes 8 to 10 hours to prepare and is full of umami flavours. Paired with springy Ramen, the Signature "Chao Da" (Charred) Ebi Noodles is a burst of flavours for the palate in a good way. The Ah Ma's Achar Gone Fancy was a wonderful side that paired well with the Ebi Noodles. The Salted Mackerel Fried Chicken side was a little bit of a letdown as it was not crispy enough. The Ebi Noodles here is an interesting dish and worthy of another visit to try their highly popular limited edition Hokkien Mee which has not been on the menu for a while now. General Verdict: Japanese twist of the local favourite, Prawn Mee. Interesting taste that deserves a further inspection Opening Hours: Daily 11am-10pm (Closed on Mondays) Queue Situation: Next to none outside of meal time Price: SG$11-SG$40 per person Payment Mode: E-portal via Visa and Mastercard only Items Ordered: 1) Item: Signature "Chao Da" (Charred) Ebi Noodles - Signature prawn noodle with thick flavourful broth served with a pair of prawns charred to perfection and a side of Ah Ma's Achar Gone Fancy Description: The broth was a burst of flavours in the mouth and the prawns were thick, springy and juicy. The achar gave a good balance to the meal. Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$14.90++ (Additional SG$3.90++ to make it a set) 2) Item: Salted Mackerel Fried Chicken - Something's Fishy with the Chicken. Crispy fried chicken in salted mackerel marinade. Comes paired with chef created tangy chili sambal Description: Although a fried dish, it was not crispy enough and resulted in a clash of flavours that could not be saved by the sambal. Verdict: Acceptable, Order only if you want to try Price: SG$5.80++ (or get it as part of "Make it a set" for SG$3.90++ when ordering any main)

Went on a Saturday evening, there wasn’t a crowd. The star would be the broth. It was very tasty. Chicken was tender. Charred Prawn was ok. Noodle was abit clumpy didn’t absorb much of the broth. We topped up $3.90 for a set and chose Ah Cha and a hot drink. We also ordered onion rings with curry Mayo. Overall, not too bad for the price paid.

Ate at Ebi bar for the second time today, and once again satisfied by the rich broth and chao tar taste. The Ngor Hiang was made from chicken and we couldn’t tell that it was chicken till the owner shared that with us - it was crispy too! Would recommend with the quiet surrounding.

Prawns are fresh. Their menu are very expensive.... Chao ta prawns noodles - 2 prawns, some chicken slides. Though the soup broth are very flavourful, but try once for the taste n won't come back again as it's too expensive. Pao fan includes 2 prawns, chicken slides, clams, tofu.. @ 18.90... seriously..overpriced.. don't think worth to pay jus for the flavorful soup n the prawns. Too Chao ta already, make the soup very toxic for the health.

Me and my wife loved our dishes at this stall. We had their hokkien mee and signature chao ta prawn noodles. I prefered the stronger taste of the hokkien mee prawn noodle while my wife prefer the slightly milder soup based prawn noodle. Both was great and enjoyable in their own ways. We will definitely want to return again to get our prawn noodle fix when we are in the area.

The broth is thick and savory. Prices on the high side which could be due to the quality of the ingredients they used. It is blessing to have lunch time special so we got to try their amazing food. They assured no MSG in their food. Those queuing for the Taiwanese food next unit should queue for Ebi Bar instead.

Nice decent food. The prawn noodles is fantastic, but the grilled prawn is unfortunately over cooked, so it’s kinda wasted. Hokkien mee uses premium ingredients, but I would pick hawker one over this any day. Side of onion rings and mala dumpling is nice!
