Encik Tan

Tried twice on their curry chicken cutlet rice which are really satisfying at the price of $4.30. It always (so far) came hot and crispy which are really tasty! Would hope that they given more vegetables as the portion is lesser as I’ve seen as compared to other outlets.

Most terrible experience at Encik Tan Compass One today. The rojak was overpriced with very few fruits and veg ingredients. We also ordered Char Kway Teow and the cook was interested in doing everything else but cook. Ended up waiting for 15mins and he skipped our queue no. I asked him why and he said its next. Then he disappeared to the back kitchen instead of cooking. Finally, I had enough and asked for a refund. Meanwhile, the cleaning staffs stood around and talked as they starred unwaveringly at the non-typical movement of my special needs son as my daughter was feeding him. It was most uncomfortable experience for my kids. Finally, when my daughter asked where she can throw some trash, another cleaner spoke rudely and condescendingly to her. We will never eat at EnciK Tan again, and at every opportunity we get, we will let others know of our experiences today.

No fuss food, quick pickup. Decent curry gravy and chicken.

Fried kway teow stall service very bad. Totally disregard customer waiting for their turn to order. Service guy has no customer manners at all. Don't even bother if I ever wanted to order. Have to go one counter before to order but was told to order direct from this as stall service guy. Worst senerio was told only has kway teow and no hokkien mee...Time 1235pm . Wasting my time standing in line and feel like a fool. Such service personal should be sack immediately.

I paid $8.10 for this pack of Sambal Sotong set from Grab that picks up from this store.The amount of squid they gave me is pathetic. It's hardly half a sotong. I felt so cheated. Look at how they advertise the sambal sotong and what I got?

Encik Tan over at compass one has been around ever since the mall undergo a major revamp. I would say that this outlet is of average size as compared to other encik tan outlets in othe locations. Seats are very very limited and hard to come by if you happen to passby during peak hours in the evening. Food choices wise, it has a wide variety of stalls such as their signature curry rice, fish soup, char kway teo, carrot cake, western food, claypot dishes as well. Sadly, they do not have my favourite sesame chicken claypot here at this outlet. I would love to have them bring it in though, since they already have claypot dishes here in this outlet. Taste wise, I would say that it is on par with the rest of their encik tan outlet island wide. So do drop by if you're I the vicinity and craving for a plate of curry rice.

Encik Tan is a half food court, half fast food restrurant. It’s like you take a food court, miniaturize it, and put it right next to an actual food court. I swear, these outlets seem to always have an actual food court. This isn’t a bad thing just a thing I noticed. The food here was quite tasty actually, the claypot chicken rice was fantastic and that’s just from one stall, imagine the others, and I only paid $5.50 for that! I don’t like how some rice got stuck onto the claypot but that’s probably just me. The ONE thing I hate though is that the tables are ALWAYS dirty, like it seems like the tables either have a 90% water 10% ??? puddle on it or a new tattoo. Besides that the workers are alright, if they we’re replaced with mindless robots I would have never noticed but that isn’t a problem really. Overall, good food, ugly tables.
