★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered sesame, almond and peanut duo. The highlight of this stall would be the smoothness of their dessert. Tastewise, tend to be on the lighter note which I guess why some feel the lack of richness of flavour. It's also not sweet. Nonetheless at $2 per bowl, it's still worth a try as time is running for these heritage stall which might not withstand the test of time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I tried the sesame and peanut paste, which were not too sweet but were not fragrant at all. They tasted like they contained too much thickener. The use of disposable plastics was disappointing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best tong shui desserts among the best desserts stalls. Their hightlights desserts according to my opinion are red bean, green bean, bubur cha cha and peanut, seasame paste. They are not overly sweet and good for your health i suppose. Should come during lunch time because closing time is soon

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We tried the almond and peanut paste. It was starchy thick but lacking in flavour. Very watered down feel. Mei Heong Yuan nearby does it better although more expensive, but this at $2.50 a bowl is not that cheap too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came to have the green bean tang shui with "chao cho" but did not taste any "chao cho" which suppose to able to get rid of body heatiness.
Had combination of almond and sesame. Good that not too sweet however lack of almond taste and it's gluey.

Er Gu Desserts
二姑糖水
Tucked away at a corner of the Hawker Centre, Er Gu Desserts serves up traditional Chinese (race not country) desserts. A highly popular stall, it has many long time customers and fans who make the journey here just to enjoy their offerings.
It sells traditional desserts such as Sesame Paste, Peanut Paste, Almond Paste, Green Bean Soup, Red Bean Soup, Glutinous Rice Ball, Gingko Nut Barley and Gui Ling Gao.
With many of such traditional food places disappearing due to foreign influences, it is great that Er Gu Desserts is still keeping the mantle and providing lovely traditional desserts to all of us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This desert stall brand name has been around in Chinatown before the hawker centre was built. My grandparents loved their peanut paste and occasionally brought me here when we came by Chinatown for lunch. Of course, the original old granny stall owner had since gone. I cannot exactly remember the taste but comparing this bowl today, I think the thickness of the paste is still there. The paste is also smooth and you hardly find any lumps inside. Taste wise, there seems to be a stronger sesame smell instead of peanuts. Sweetness is just nice for me, who by default drinks only tea (siew dai) less sweet.
