β β β β β Nice place to learn about the Japanese occupation era. The museum is not crowded so you can take your time to visit without any disturbance at all. Nothing to eat in the museum though so best is to prepare some snack on your own. Parking is free. For those take bus will be quite troublesome though.

β β β β β 3 SGD for foreigners and EP holders, can take photos but not videos. A well mix of exhibits, and of course the meeting room where the British surrendered to the Japanese during WWII.

β β β β β Really informative, with helpful staff. Glad to see that Singapore's museums are moving towards a broader view of wartime history and are moving past nationalistic narratives to give the audience a wider appreciation for the past.

β β β β β First came here almost 10 years ago for a school project. Happen to be around the vicinity for lunch and decided to pop by for a visit.
Nice Museum to learn more about the pre and post war history about Singapore. This Museum was also the place where British Army surrender to the Japanese Army.
All the interactive are currently unable due to the covid situation. Nice place to visit, its free for Singaporean and foreigners have to pay for the entrance.

β β β β β Quite an interesting if short visit of about an hour, spanning the periods from World War 2 battles between the British and the Japanese, the Fall of Singapore and the Japanese Occupation, as well as post-War when the British forces returned and the war crimes trials.
There is also a recreation of the British surrender by Percival to the Japanese, as well as a transcript of what they said.
What was especially interesting in the well researched and interactive displays was the Asian and Singaporean perspectives, with films and audio of how the locals survived during that bleak period. Do look out for the displays of ration cards, currencies and travel documents, as well as what food was scrounged up to survive.
Entry is free for Singaporeans and PRs, with proof of IDs. You should visit this in conjunction with the WW2 exhibition at the National Museum at Stamford Road, which also has a static display of a modern SAF armored vehicle and a WW2-era Japanese light tank. They also provide one way transfers here.
