★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome lighthouse. Got to visit here on weekend. The Raffles House, the Light house, Fort Gate, Spice Garden and the beauty of the slopes feels great. Was on a solo trip here but had a great time, with nature. Pigeons, Chickens and other birds wondering freely. The reservoir is protected and cannot be looked into, and if you wish to visit the Battlebox you will have to spend S$38, which I did not think of spending. Overall a great picnic spot as well. The Fort Canning hotel in the middle adds to its beauty. A must visit at least once to have a 14th century walk of Singapore History!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Before the era of the modern skyline, Fort Canning was a good place to build a lighthouse because it sits at a higher elevation and thus offers a commanding view of the city and harbor. This lighthouse seems to have served its country well in the many years it was in use.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just like the air traffic control tower that moniters planes landing, taking off and moving around at the airport, lighthouses used to serve the same purpose before planes existed. And the best place to establish a base and erect a watch tower was naturally a Fort Canning Hill because of its strategic location so they could keep an eye on and guide all ship traffic that passed through Singapore harbour.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Saw the Fort Canning Lighthouse back in March before the shutdown. This lighthouse is a functioning replica of the original lighthouse that once sat atop Fort Canning Hill. It's a great reminder of how important maritime trade was once to Singapore. It’s not an amazing thing to see, but it’s worth a look if visiting Fort Canning Park.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A lovely oasis for those who appreciate a short walk. The walk is quite strenuous but worth it. One of the sights is the Fort Canning Lighthouse. The picture taken at the dawn of 24/5/2022 shows an alignment of Venus close to the horizon, followed by Jupiter and the waning crescent moon. It was too bright to see Mars nearby Jupiter.
