Yes, Singapore (like all major cities) is getting expensive - but there are still places where we can get incredible value. All these cost only $13.40.. and it's unfair to only mention the price. The food is very good, especially the 芋头糕, 糯米饭,皮蛋粥. And the owner/ family are very friendly - you'll feel that strong neighborhood vibes which we're slowing losing in Singapore.

Two days ago, my elderly father, a frequent patron, unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience at this stall. His breakfast purchase came up to $6.20, so he placed a $10 note, a 10c coin and two 5c coins on the counter. I know it is the prerogative of hawker stalls to not accept 5c coins so long as, by MAS regulations, "the vendor gives written notice to customers prior to a transaction". I do not know if you had put it up; I walked past it today and didn't see it. But that wouldn't have mattered anyway since my 81-year-old father never went to school and is illiterate. What is the issue is that YOU PICKED UP THE 5c COINS AND THREW THEM INTO THE TRASH BIN! In front of him. In front of everyone. Yes, he is uneducated. Yes, he probably cannot understand how legal tender currency can be rejected. But there is no reason to humiliate him like that in public. If you really didn't want to accept the 5c coins, you could simply have taken the $10 note, and given change of $3.80. NOT THROW HIS MONEY INTO THE TRASH LIKE THAT. He came back on the verge of tears. An 81-year-old man. Reflect on that.

Tried the yam cake. It is the sticky type with pieces of Yam inside. Fragrant with fried onion toppings. Recommended. Their glutinous rice is too bad too.

My wife like the porridge (loosely translated boat porridge) and we like the glutinous rice. I went to buy lunch there recently and the guy recommended their rice with chicken which I tried and it was quite good. On the way out, I helped the guys there who had friends visiting take a picture. ?

The men bee hoon and glutinous rice is very delicious. Glutinous rice is soft. $3 is more expensive than others but i will go back for the taste

Excellent morning breakfast! I’ve not visited in years but the quality still has not dropped! The glutinous rice remains a favourite of mine, and tasty porridge is not to be missed. The portions are generous and much larger than what you would get from other dim sum restaurants. There is a queue but it moves quickly.

Decided to try this stall with numerous photos of celebrities and MP. Glutinous rice.. Salty. Chee Cheong fun... Nice thin skin. Mee hoon.. Fried well.
