Ordered kway teow soup, no great shakes I am afraid. Ingredients were scarce for $5. I won't travel the distance for this stuff and queue for it. Ah ma chi mian offers a better option at around the same price. The coffee shop tea is kinda dilute so I won't bother wasting calories on ordering the milk version.

Came a bit late today. No more mee pork and mee kia. Hence I went for 2 bowls. One soup and one dry of kway teow mee. Very consistent quality and taste even after so many years. For the liver that's the first thing you must eat before it becomes tough. Thumbs up to the stall. Super delicious.

Unfortunately, I am unable to bring myself to agree with the high ratings given for this stall. It's decent bowl of noodle which you pretty much gets almost everywhere. Wouldn't say it's worth the wait.

One of our favourite haunts when it comes to BCM especially when the dish is prepared by the uncle himself. In the new location here, you place your order, pay upfront and take a number. Keep a lookout for your number to be called on the electronic screen, then go get it. My favourite is kway teow with extra chilli sauce and chilli padi. If you are a fan of mee kia or mee pok, do go early as they are often sold out before lunch. Enjoy the yumz!

The soup is flavorful and the Lau shu fen was springy to the bite. Bits of minced pork and pork lard set it's base flavor. Thin slices of pork liver and seaweed are added. I would suggest $6 portion as the added ingredients are more value.

Bak Chor Mee (SGD $5) @ Lai Heng Mushroom Minced Meat Noodle. . This popular stall draws a constant queue throughout the day. Known for its reliably decent and consistent bak chor mee, I queued 20 minutes for this. . Their soup is clear and light, but I prefer their gravy which is balanced with savoury sour spicy notes. . Love that the mee pok / wide flat egg noodles were al-dente with a light chew. The pork slices and minced pork are fresh with meaty sweet savoury flavour, the braised mushrooms lending a salty earthy savoury contrast. . Big flavour from the crisp pork lard. A comforting and satisfying bowl, among the better renditions in the area.

Extremely busy bak chor mee place in Toa Payoh. No queue at all but I soon realised that they are very efficient at taking orders and you get a number. There were 10 orders in front of me. I only wait around 15mins so not bad really. I ordered the $6 bowl and as you can see, it's huge. The noodles were just OK, not bad but not to the expectations I had have. Good bowl if you are local to the area.

Was shock too see the $6 portion so big that the noodles almost filled to the brim of the bowl. Even more surprisingly was that I managed to finished everything without struggle which speaks volumes how much I enjoyed the noodles. Would have prefer their meat & liver to be sliced bigger pieces though the portion were generous, also the ingredients are rather basic, lacking both meat balls & dumplings.
