★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Average claypot chicken shop. Have a tinge of smokiness to the chicken rice, which was a plus point (thought I think it's nicer to have more). Vege was OK - overall, I really find it average ... But there's really quite a number of people eating here. Let me know if I missed out any signature dishes ... ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been wanting to try this place which was kinda out of the way, but so glad we did.
We tried the lotus root braised duck which was really good - the meat came apart with ease and the flavours were sublime; the lotus roots added a nice crunch and we liked it quite a bit. The sambal kangkong was nice but a little muted in spiciness. Lastly the unagi claypot rice was very satisfying - the unagi pieces got mashed up with the rice by the service lady and the flavours really blended quite wonderfully. On the whole it's a little more expensive than many other claypot options, but I think the flavours here offer more depth and dimensions. I'd certainly recommend it if you're a claypot fan. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommended to book a table before coming down as well as order the claypot rice at the same time to avoid long waiting time. It’s very crowded. Also, it’s not in Geylang, it’s actually in Beach Road, near golden mile complex.
Taste wise, not so fantastic, not sure why so many people queueing. Claypot was good, but the rice were soaked in water for sometime, it’s crumbling and dry. The good thing is there are different claypot rice to choose from, not only chicken. It’s so boring as other places only served chicken claypot rice.
We also had a shop, omelet and kang kong. It was okay. The seats were not very comfortable and it was a bit pricey for the quality and quantity served.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ambience is nice. A great upgrade from the original venue at geylang. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good. The claypot rice was ok but not enough salted fish. The kang kong was great. One of the much better ones I've had. Love the crab meat roll. Very tasty. Good to make a reservation and you can place your order for the rice beforehand. Otherwise it will take at least 30 mins for your rice to be ready.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We keep passing Geylang Claypot Rice enroute to Citygate where we park when we go to Kampong Glam . And I made a mental note to try it out as I could smell the wonderful charred aroma that came from claypot rice made from scratch.
We were really glad we did. Although the wait was 45 minutes for a table, the server said that we could order the claypot rice ahead so it would be ready shortly after we were seated. The lap cheong , both liver and pork were top quality , the chicken pieces were moist and succulent and the rice absorbed the oils and juices well . The daily soup was very good as there was no scrimping on ingredients for the stock , including dried oysters, cuttlefish, dates , pork ribs and sliced lotus root. Another pleasant surprise was the zhi char dishes. The sotong / squid rings were tender , stir fried with sweet onion and tomato quarters , spring onion and a zingy chili sauce. Their home made brews were commendable too , as the lemongrass pandan drink was soothing and sweet.
And the service was top notch ! Polite , helpful , attentive and quick. In fact , they were so kind to offer us an umbrella to get to our car across the street as it was bucketing with rain.
Reserve a table and order ahead - it is well worth it. Prices were gentle on the pocket as well. And they took pains to create a contemporary retro ambiance with the terazzo finishes , wooden stools and the scrolls with the names of dishes handwritten in longform Mandarin on the wall

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quaint little eatery serving quality claypot rice that’s well seasoned, full of wok hey and chicken so tender you’ll be craving for more!
Side dishes: Tofu prawn & French beans were delicious and paired well with the rice but the old cucumber soup was mediocre.
Tip: Must phone to preorder the rice to avoid waiting??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Though slightly expensive, the quality of food definitely justifies that price point. If you want some authentic claypot rice in a comfortable casual restaurant setting, do consider dining at this place.
Tip: it is best to book a reservation as well as pre-order the claypot rice, so you can prevent long waiting time for food to be served.
