โ โ โ โ โ Had an underwhelming and disappointing experience today for lunch. I ordered the tempura and sashimi set with raw octopus as an additional side dish. Sashimi was average at best. The ebi tempura was below average. Wife ordered a 10 pc sushi set, and based on the menu, it should come with Uni, ikura and maguro. However, 4 pieces were aburi sushi (not shown in menu), and there was no uni / ikura / maguro. Also, I ate the salmon sushi and it was not fresh. The menu did not state that all the sushi within the sushi set is up to the chef, until the waitress told us when we queried further. Waitress was also not apologetic, not exactly friendly, and just said its the management's decision. While there were other fishes that replaced the uni and ikura, the difference in the expected ingredients (and also level of ingredients) is just too large. And ya, the aburi sushis were just the aburi version of the other raw sushi served on the same plate, and were lacking in aburi taste. Not acceptable at all.
Overall, quality was below expectation, service was not good (from that particular waitress), and the sushi experience was disappointing.

โ โ โ โ โ Service is robotic, the auntie at my neighbourhood cze char stall can do a better job.
Food is so so and elementary.
Good range of sake and sochu, price is moderately reasonable.
Good ambience.
Will need a strong pull factor to be back.

โ โ โ โ โ the beef innards motsunabe is soooo good that I am returning again for it with friends. broth is flavorful, no dry mouth thereafter and intestines are all cut to tiny bite sizes to assist in savoring. Next time i'm ordering the beef cubes and preordering the seared mackerel. Can skip the sashimi and goyza.

โ โ โ โ โ Their deep fried mackerel was great. Highly recommended. Other dishes were normally ok, but reasonable compared to other Japanese restaurants in Singapore.
Service was normally good.
Iโd like to visit them again for their deep fried mackerel soon.

โ โ โ โ โ Wah havent had an amazing hot stew soup thing in a long while!
The stews great! The vege and cabbage is nice and sweet. The offals are great too. At first I thought it was a lil greasy but after a while it's actually quite ok!
Adding ramen at the end is recommended too. Although was slightly full at that point already!
The desserts were great too!

โ โ โ โ โ Hearty Japanese fare that's value for money! We came at 1.30pm and barely just got a seat. The lunch sets came with various side dishes, and the miso soup was loaded with vegetables. Grilled mackarel was de-boned and balanced with crispy skin, tender meat, and lightly salted taste. The stir fry pork kimchi vegetables was okay, but the serving size was massive. Will definitely be back to try other dishes!

โ โ โ โ โ May 2022: Authentic little Japanese restaurant. Service was prompt and food was homemade. Felt the portion size was small vs the price. The tables around us seemed to be there for the all u can eat buffet. Generally was a good experience. There were a number of walk-ins with no reservations (same as us) and yet there was table available, though if itโs a gathering of such, best to make reservations.

โ โ โ โ โ My family and I wanted to grab a Japanese dinner yesterday night, and we walked into this place. No plans to do so, but it turned out to be surprisingly good. The food is good, and service is great despite it being a full house, and the place has ample space enough for ambience. You know you're getting authentic Japanese food when you see Japanese families sitting down to eat at the same place, and are greeted by Japanese staff...
Perhaps the only gripe we had was with the stir-fried beef intestines. They were tough as nails, and almost impossible to bite through, and I didn't really care for the Mala-like taste of the dish...and this is the reason for my 4-star rating.
