Oct 21, had an infection along the food pipe. Called changi hospital for but the earliest appt was the following day. Tried my luck with parkway east and was able to get a ent specialist immediately. After diagnosis, the doc referred me to Dr shim because the infection was further down the food pipe and had to admit immediately. A scope was organized immediately and Dr shim was able determine the issue. I also explained that I had a long term chronic issue In the stomach and did a previous scope with another doctor, and was unable to determine what’s wrong after the scope. After diagnosis, Dr Shim was able to determine that I had chronic gastritis and gave me some medical to resolve that as well. Thanks Dr Shim! It was definitely a well worth visit.

Happy to have Dr. Shim as my doctor at gutcare. He explains thoroughly and I felt cared for and that he is compassionate to his patients. You won't feel rushed and hesitant to ask questions to Dr. Shim. I highly recommend him.

I have been seeing Doctor Shim at Parkway East Medical Centre for the past 3 months. He is very different from other doctors as he will talk to you and walk you through your health issues and problems before arranging for tests and procedures unlike other doctors only interested in money making. He also carefully arrange you for tests that are needed and tests that are not needed to avoid you paying unecessary medical fees. In addition, he is very patient and friendly and always listen to your experiences unlike other doctors whom are very impatient and rushes you away. He had also performed endoscopy for me successfully with no after effects and also keep me assured throughout the procedure. I also like to thank Gina whom is Dr Shim assistant whom surprised me with her superb friendly and ready to help attitude. I was surprised when she called me at night to remind me what to do before the endoscopy which i felt very touched as I had never seen anyone done that before especially after office hours. She is always ready to answer our queries at any point in time without attitude like many other assistants in other clinics. I am very blessed to have met Dr Shim and Gina for my gastric and intestinal issues. Thank you☺️

I had to be hospitalized on the eve of Chinese New Year and was attended to by Dr Shim Hang Hock. The quality and extent of care that he provided for the duration of my hospital stay was very good and reassuring which made a whole lot of difference during that difficult period. Dr Shim also continued to provide the same level of care for my post-hospitalization follow ups coordinated by Gina (executive assistant), meant that my condition was well managed and treated. Will recommend him to my family and friends who need a gastroenterologist.

Dr Shim is an extremely nice and patience doctor. Always explain the process clearly and assured that everything will be ok. He is a very patient-oriented doctor. He would not rush you to leave his room without clearing any of your doubts. Thank you so much for the care during my admission as well as post appointments! Also, he always show his concern not only to me but also to my son (as we admitted together after one and other) even though my son wasn't his patient. Clinic staffs are great and friendly! Dr Chong is a great doctor. He's steadfast and it was a painless and fast procedure of my stomach and intestine scope. The staffs and nurses were very assuring and friendly. I felt comfortable throughout and gad a great experience.
