Hei Sushi

Service wasn't the best but the food was good.

Read properly. Do not waste money here. Tastes horrible! My kids couldn't eat the Ju. Flat tasting sushi. Edamame is junk. And the so expensive... something needs to be done here

Wide range of food selection.. There are beverages, temaki, salad, sashimi, a variety of sushi, grilled seafood, baked seafood, crispy bites, clayton, ramen, small steamboat (nabemono), udon, soba, rice in hot stone, baked rice, kiddy set, dessert, cake.. Ordered: - tropical mango ice blend (recommended! I personally like this!) - soft shell crab temaki (this one is nice too) - ika somen tempura (average) - chawanmushi (average) - soft shell crab udon (soft shell crab is nice, udon soup is a salty though) - Kaisen ramen (average) - tebasaki and yakitori ju - assorted sushi (average)

The service is slow with foods that is expensive with no standard and tastes bad. The ramen was alright but the seaweed not good. The hot tea did not taste good. I ordered the squid and it was crusty.

Try the beef and cheese tempura fried maki - tasty and quite an unusual fusion combo. Wasabi was generous and not the foil packet type. Overall appearance is similar to Sushi Express with a conveyor belt, however it has a very wide range of other food choices from the tablet/menu. Service was quick and efficient. Dined at said establishment slightly before peak dinner time when the restaurant was still quite empty with about 2 or 3 tables besides us. The place was quite stuffy and lack ventilation especially considering how empty it was. We ordered food through the iPad provided and took some sushi off the conveyer belt. We were quite shocked that the sushi taken off the conveyer belt was at room temperature so not sure how long those have been left there. We ordered 2 plates of chuka idako gunkan which was served to us and it tasted stale with a sour taste, and decided to feedback to the restaurant and returned one plate only to have them tell us that it’s a new taste. Didn’t order anything else after that plate and left to pay. Staff who I assume is the manager is super rude, defensive and dismissive. The food is super overpriced after calculation compared to restaurants with much better quality just next door. It was underwhelming and honestly, didn’t dare to continue eating after trying the octopus, and had to finish our dinner somewhere else. I would never step into this place ever again.

Sushi was at room temperature as if it’s been out for a long time. Ordered 2 plates of octopus sushi and could clearly taste the sourness in it. Got my friend to try for a second opinion and she shared the same sentiments. But when we feedback to the staff, he told us it was the ‘new taste’. Food items were overpriced and we were overcharged for item that we returned without even touching. Food was severely underwhelming, manager was rude and it is not value for price at all.

One of the larger hei sushi outlets. Came around 7pm. All the udon were sold out. Chawamushi only left with takeaway bowl. Sushi on the conveyor belt also not replenish, the mentaiko was dried up already. Price is standard for a sushi place. Sembawang outlet has better staff. Only halal sushi place around here so probably why lacking standard. No competition. Will stick to sembawang outlet as I’m a frequent patron of hei sushi. Oh and no aircon. Sweating throughout the meal.
