The queue wasn't long today. Excellent meatball which burst into flavours with every bite. Staff were pleasant and thanked us for the support. Discovered 2 packets of YTF and noodles missing after I reached home. Too far and too lazy to go back. It was a good meal overall. P/s put the whole meatball in your mouth and chew it.

YTF store in a neighbourhood Kopitiam with wide variety but so-so in overall. Personally think that the non-fried items fared better than fried ones as those were too oily. Fishball was the most outstanding item I ordered, as it was springy, tasted fresh and handmade. Most items were nonetheless on the bland side. Dried noodles were cooked well and coated in fragrant soy sauce that was quite unique.

Meh...just a platter of fried stuff that isn't worth the hype. The noodles with black sauce isn't that great either. Prices are good though I guess.

This is a lost & found stall to me, having wow by their meatballs ages ago at their old location and possibly before their split into the now 'infamous' red & blue YTF stall. Their meatballs are still so good, and probably now run by a new generation with new ideas or simply motivated to out do the other stall, their selections seems comprehensively enhanced as they not only have both the minced meat & fish paste filling but also some of their own creation like fried cheese dumpling & lotus sandwiched w/minced meat etc, though these do not necessarily stand out among the traditional items. The staple are also equally impressive as apart from the usual noodle, they also have pumpkin rice and even chee cheong fun. You would simply want to come back for more!

Noticed that there are 2 Hup Chong in Toa Payoh. Almost same name, selection is slightly different and about the same prices. This was in Toa Payoh North which had some fancy items using cheese and pumpkin (rosti). Personally, I feel this outlet has a better quality and taste. Items seemed slightly larger as well. The sauce and chili are similar.

Been having this Hakka Yong Tau Foo since I was a little boy. Currently second generation hawkers operating the stall. The bomb here is the fish meat Ngo Hiang. Crispy on the outside and juicy, savoury on the inside. Pieces of Yong Tau Foo each at an affordable 70 cents and a clear, tasty soup of anchovies and soya beans with no msg. Used to be a Sunday treat when I was growing up in Toa Payoh decades ago when they were located at Blk 116 coffeeshop and two sisters were operating the stall. A nice taste of nostalgia to date and tastes as good.

Rather excellent, great meatballs as advertised and a few surprise favourites like the mozzarella cheese dumplings. the yellow noodles with black sauce were good and the chilli was fantastic. It's crazy how those meatballs are only 70¢ each, they're huge. I'd skip on the Ngoh Hiang though, they're all pork and are basically just the meatballs but with a pasty texture.
