Shengtai Beef Noodles - 210 Lor 8 Toa Payoh

Beef noodles stall in hawker centre. Beef noodles is nice and my son loves it. Have been visiting this stall for a few years already Must try. Don't forget the chilli sauce.

Recommending this beef noodles for several reasons. But let me give the PRIMARY one first. After eating at this stall, my sugar levels are within the normal range. I recommend this for all pre-diabetics, diabetics and old folks who wants to crimp down on sugar intake. The price is reasonable and the beef (tendons, brisket etc) simply delicious. I prefer the dry ones but the soup is good too. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

Came back to TPY for the hawker delights. One of the better beef noodles. Very patient and nice couple manning the shop. Haven’t been to their stall for years. Ordered the dry mixed version. Taste and quality as expected ? good and delicious. Happy that they switched to the narrower version of the kueh teow. Their broth has a nice herbal flavour. Recommend ?

牛杂河粉 Mixed Beef Hor Fun ? Food wise: Quite different compared to its rival. Gravy is not that thick, it's more watery and has lighter colour. It has a lighter taste, but it is still aromatic and flavourful, that is for sure. Beef, similar, Brisket, Tendon and Intestines, one beef ball and I believe no beef slices. They did slice everything nicely and do a proper "plating" to produce such elegance and balance in looks. Each of the ingredients here tastes equally good in comparison to its rival too. Tough fight. Hor fun, also slightly on the soggy side, but still nice. Due to the gravy not being thick, hor fun didn't manage to stain enough of the gravy. Maybe that is the idea of being "lighter" here, it won't be too sinful eating this.? Spamming of the chilli and the pepper still doesn't determine which is the winner. Both are equally good but they do have their unique taste. ✨ Ambience wise: Hawker centre ?? Service wise: Can't expect too much I guess ? ? Price wise: This cost $6, which might tilt my preference toward its rival. The amount of food is almost the same too, it is very hearty! Again maybe due to the possibility that this is on the "lighter" side, thus healthier. And healthier is usually pricier? ?

Very disappointed with the dry beef noodles. Both gravy and soup were too sweet, and didn't have the deep rich beefy flavour I was looking for. The meat however was very tender. Only saving grace.

Chance upon this stall selling beef noodle the last time I was here having breakfast at Lor 8 toa payoh food centre. Happen to be here and decide to give the stall a try. There wasn’t any queue when I reached, Stall owner was actual resting at the table Infront of the stall. Over here, their beef noodle comes in soup and dry with price starting from SGD$5 onwards. Ordered the mixed beef slices and beef ball noodle dry, paid SGD$6 for my meal. You can choose between a few types of carbs. First impression, portion was quite generous. Frankly speaking, quite disappointed with the taste. The gravy consistency was too watery, besides that. The Gravy was too sweet for my liking. The beef slices felt that it was already precooked. Overall, quite disappointed with the food. Had to be one of the worst beef noodles I have tried in Singapore so far. The only saving grace for me was the soup was not bad. Would recommend the soup version instead of the dry one.

Ordered beef slices with horfun. Taste wise was quite alright, pleasantly surprised that it’s quite different from the normal mainstream beef noodles - gravy was not as starchy as the norm, taste was more herbal-ish. The soup had a herbal taste to it as well, and i kinda like it. Portion was generous as well and store uncle was kind to refill my soup for me.
