Ivan's Express Alteration - 14 Scotts Rd

Had some shirts altered. Contrary to other reviews the turnaround was not quick. Quality of the alteration was also bad, some of my shirts were ruined. Brought one back to Ivan as it was poorly done and could still be rectified. His service attitude was poor and did a very rushed job in fixing it. The stitching came loose and I had to go elsewhere to get it done properly in the end.

Fast and well done alterations with great service to boot! My go to for alterations.

Ivan is a complete sweetheart and a master at his craft. Alterations (e.g. taking in, letting out, shortening hemlines) and mending (e.g. loose hem, broken zipper, small tears) are done professionally and at such an affordable price! He is my first port of call for anything I can't fix myself. Having been a customer of Ivan's for 5+ years, I'd just like to help address some negative feedback here: 1. Ivan sews everything himself in his tiny hole-in-the-wall space, unlike many alteration studios that outsource the work. This means he has full control of the work quality, but also means he's swarmed with orders in the peak period (holiday season to CNY) and we have to be reasonable about the timeline we give him + let him know if something is urgent so he can help prioritise it. 2. Ivan's work is not shoddy by any means. I've used both cheaper and more high-end tailors, and Ivan's work quality tends towards the high-end despite his price point. That said, as a one-man-show he does not have the time to source for the perfect matching thread for every customer, so if that's something that matters to you, you could either bring what you need to him or find a different tailor. 3. Ivan may have a sense of humour that takes getting used to, but he's never rude. I appreciate his honest opinion and his down-to-earth nature. If you're looking for a professional, affordable, no-nonsense alteration tailor - Ivan's your guy!

Patronised this alteration shop over the years. Down to earth and friendly Ivan. Very affordable price and usually provides on the day collection alterations at no additional charge.

Ivan's work is excellent & quick & cheap and i'm bless & lucky that i found this great place to repair my new clothes that i bought recently to get it restitch and boy oh boy i was so happy with the end results it is like the hole wasn't there in the first place , will always use him now and give business to him as he also give good advice to customer's too .

Have been going to Ivan since my JC times to alter my uniform. Once I went to him to fix a dress to my proportions, and he gave helpful suggestions on how to make it look more flattering to my body type. Every time he asks me to come back in 45 minutes, but I always tell him it’s not urgent. Superb service, will always recommend him. Thanks, Ivan!

I was happy to have found Ivan for alteration and downsizing of my dress, and he did so in less than 2 hours! His workmanship and professionalism is great, and you could tell how experienced he is just by how he pins and marks the areas required for alteration. Not to mention, Ivan is very friendly and pleasant to deal with. Would definitely be back if I require any other alteration services! :)

This tailor shop. Item sent in more than 3 weeks still not alter. The receipt wrote 10-11 May can collect. When the item not ready, Ivan will not take initiative to let you know. On 20 May I checked with him again. He still haven’t alter my items. He is very time wasting and unprofessional. Not even an apology I got from him. After spending 3 weeks the item on him. My item was not even touch.
