Nothing to dislike- traditional shop with hardworking staff. Went on a weekday afternoon and although not much choices were left, we were served quickly and we walked away happy customers!!!

Overrated! Nothing fantastic. Visited here with my parents after watching mediacorp Rebecca Lim’s variety show on 29 May. It is a GREAT disappointment. Bought the traditional bread in Kaya Butter. The β€œbutter” tastes & looks more like β€œmargarine”?! This alone costs $3.60. Also bought 2 packets of their cranberry cookies ($5 each). So spent $13.60 in total. Cookies is also another big disappointment.. Soggy (not crispy texture), and I’m not sure why it tastes a little salty and left me very thirsty after eating.. My tongue actually feel kind of numb. I am not a competitor, and this is my true account. Well.. My first and last time visiting here! Wasted my trip. DISAPPPOINTED.

The breads are soft. What always drives me to the store is their generous spread of margarine! So nice and a great combo with peanut and kaya.

Incredibly soft and fluffy bread from Jie Bakery!! Love the traditional rainbow ones that reminds me of old times. Bought one with Kaya and butter spread and another plain and costs me only $4.90! Cheap and yummy! Went home to make egg sandwich with the soft and fluffy rainbow buns. Looks incredibly aesthetic as well.

Only tried once but I wanna go back again! Very old-school/traditional bread bakery. I tried their white bread with spread and another brown sugar loaf w/o spread. Was surprised to find kaya/butter spread for every 2 pcs of bread in the loaf (was thinking I'll only get 2 or a few pcs based on the price ?). All of the bread I had are super soft and fluffy! Not jelat at all and 2 of us ate through the whole white bread loaf and some of the brown sugar one in one day. However wouldn't recommend the brown sugar bread as really can't smell or taste any brown sugar taste despite its colour. Very hard to find parking in the area as there's only a few parallel parking lots in front of this row of shophouses and the one-way road only allows one car to pass at a time. ?

Their bread is baked fresh everyday and does not have preservatives. Loved the fact that it is "pure". Must order their kaya bread - spread on the spot for you on a rainbow bread. The taste is just magical - taste of childhood and magical at the same time!

Old school bun bring back my memory of colleague time. It’s super extra soft and their filings is generous consider the pricing. I ordered kosong bread so that I can do steamed otak bread. It’s heavenly paired. Please support this humble shop if your are around the neighborhood. Their buns are a very good choice of stack, I can easily finished 2 at a go.

Got to know of this bakery even before they are aired on Channel 8 as part of a traditional store in the neighbourhood - but the series definitely reignited that spark to go give it a try ? ? Came by after dinner in the area, and had to say that parking is an issue there considering the single lane roads with parallel parking. Accessibility definitely wasn’t the best. However, a constant stream of patrons seems to flow in during the time we were there - especially from the neighbouring restaurants. The highlight of the show were pretty much all the bread they had, made on the same day and advised to be consumed within 24 hours or 3 days, if you applied the spread and not, respectively. I had my last slice on the third day and it was incredibly soft still.. Glad that there are still stores that keeps the tradition going, and happy to taste something fresh for a change, after tasting the commercialised bread we are used to having in recent years. ?? #supportlocal #authenticbread #keeptraditionalive
