Jiu Xiang Xiang Roast Duck - 588 Balestier Rd

I buy duck here very regularly, been here about 3 times in the last 2 weeks. It’s lovely with the herbal sauce. It’s really very well priced as well at $16.80 per duck.

Steady flow of customers on a Sunday at 9am. Delicious and affordable roast pork and charsiew. Generous serving with delicious sauce. Super shiok! I also loved the sambal (with chunks of ikan bilis). Soup is normal. Will be back to try the duck for sure

Bumped into this shop while looking for good food, tried the roast duck+pork noodle, standard good noodle, the roast pork is something that I have been craving for, crispy and packed with flavour, roast duck was fatty and yummy!

Stall attendants are very polite and welcoming. Friendly seems to the common theme amongst reviews here so clearly not a one time thing. For a $3 plate of roast chicken rice, this is perfection. Edit: had wonton mee for bfast here as well. 3 bucks and generous portions of ingredients. 10/10 Coffee shop is clean and breezy even on a very hot day. Roadside parking available. I usually cycle over and you can just lean ur bike against the wall besides the tables. There is a similar roast meat stall down the road (KL**), I was there when the chef went nuts bullying a filipino helper who could not speak mandarin and decided to never patronise them again. Glad to have found a better replacement.

Yakssss! Eat if u dare! Super unhygienic! This happened today about 3pm. Saw the man in red picking his nose the whole time as we were walking from 20metres towards the coffee shop he was seated at. Was telling my friend how gross that was and hope he remembers to wash his hands before he serves as he is apparently a hawker by the T-shirt he was wearing. True enough, when I was inside the coffee shop looking for food, we saw him going behind the stall to scoop rice onto a plate and chop duck that a customer just ordered WITH THE VERY HAND HE USED TO PICK HIS NOSE!!! My eyes followed him to see if he would wash his hands before he does anything, and he didn't although he had to pass by the stall metal sink to get to the rice box and chopping board.....see position of sink. Value for money. One whole roast duck selling at $16.80 nett. Good service. Mild aroma on the duck. Roast pork recommended.

Anything freshly made on location is always good. And the char on the char siew said it all. As well as the crunch on the skin. Prices were reasonable .

I would say duck has duck taste. Haha.. quite lame but it’s true. Which is also meant their marination didn’t cover up the taste of duck. Quick lunch and taste good. One whole duck cost $16.80.. I believed it’s worth the money.
