I am not a customer of this agency but I would like to bring to light a distressing incident involving a staff and Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) I witnessed at the premises of this agency on 12 May 2021, at around 1.40pm. I was just getting some items printed on the same floor when I heard a lady screaming very loudly, to which I turned my head and saw one of the JPB staff screaming at the top of her lungs at a FDW (who was sitting beside her employer) at the front desk. I could not understand the commotion as she was screaming in Bahasa Indonesia, but after I spoke to the many others who witnessed the verbal abuse, it seemed to be regarding an issue of the FDW wanting to go back to her own country. The screaming continued on for another 15 minutes, in full view of the other agencies and patrons at the mall. The verbal abuse that I witnessed was extremely distressing and this is something I escalated to MOM as there is a clear mistreatment and abuse of power. If you are considering employing a FDW from this agency, I strongly urge you to reconsider and do some research to engage with a more professional agency with humanising practices. These FDWs are human and have feelings too. Abuse, or misuse of power, will never solve anything.

Their staff Ahn Yi is very responsive and helpful. She’s been giving me advice when I had a problematic helper. She listens to me patiently and offers solutions when I needed them. In general, we can’t control the quality of the FDW but at least when there’s issue, help is there.
