★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not a pleasant breakfast experience. Tables were so close to each other, we could overhear the other tables’ sob story about their children, family and investment plans. If any of the diners had covid, everyone would definitely catch it. We asked to spread out the table space a bit more, such as pushing to the side of the walls. They also closed off half of the cafe with no written reason so everyone’s cramped up together.
Tables and trays was really dirty. The staff also forgot about our 2 dishes that were heating in the oven.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So on a day like this , we are having red bean and butter bun from kamome bakery as well as their cute bite size buttery financiers for breakfast! Been wanting to get their bakes for the longest time . Told my gal friend we have to visit the one at novena . bought the sesame bread as well .. love how soft and bouncy the bread is !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Their bakery is really good and coffee is awesome. Hope they would have put the coffee in a proper cup than a paper cup …. There are only very few seats in the bakery so avoid peak hours if you want to dine in

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came here for lunch 7 March 2022. The previous lunch menu now only has 2 choices, both are soup: 1. Beef goulash, 2. Clam chowder. Both of which are microwaved and look like it came out of a packet, served with no side salad or bread.
You can however, select any of the breads and pastries from the shelf and dine in the cafe.
Not sure why this cafe has chosen this new menu or if it’s temporary, but as it stands I will definitely not be going back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly staff and delicious selection of bread. Tried six items from here and all six have been fabulous—will actually get them again and actively recommend them to ppl I know. In fact, I returned the next day to get their breads for my friends ?
Price range of each bread this selection: $2.80-4.90, total came up to ~$22

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An authentic little slice of Japan in Singapore! Maybe it's Covid, but this cosy little Japanese bakery definitely hit all the right spots for someone who hasn't been able to visit Japan for far too long.
Fantastic breads (sliced bread for toast, red bean breads, cream buns, croquettes buns, etc) that are wonderfully Japanese, with that unique combination of being very rich yet very light on the palate.
Decently priced for the quality, tastes awesome, affordable coffees - but what takes the cake is Kanome's genuine small-bakery-cafe-in-Japan-loved-by-the-local-community vibe.
Highly recommended for fantastic breads, and especially for anyone who misses that quiet cozy neighborhood bakery cafe in Japan experience.
