★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent wet-kind fried carrot cake that's long established in this kopitiam in the katong district. The chai poh that is tossed into the mix of the soft soft carrot cake adds to the overall wonderful flavours. The main chef has trained the vietnamese helper at the kopitiam so well that when big boss is not around, the vietnamese dude fry an almost yummy tasting replica! Well trained!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Impressive Char Kway Teow ! Moist and well rounded taste, great texture of the KWAyTeow. Please try it! Highly recommended. This coffee shop is well known for the Jago carrot cake, but the stall also sells CKT.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A long time established carrot cake stall serving great serving of sweet, smooth and silky fried carrot cake.
Long queue especially on weekends but typically the wait is about 15 to 20 minutes. The taste of the black carrot cake tends to be on the sweeter side.
Prices remain affordable but portions are on the smaller end of the scale.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located in a coffeeshop along east coast road. Chance upon this stall that serves teochew mee pok. From what i know, they were previously from the Marine parade hawker centre quite some time back.
Prices of the noodles starts from SGD$4 onwards. I had the SGD$5 portion which comes with prawn if i am not wrong. The bowl of noodle comes with other ingredient such as minced meat, 2 different type of fishballs as well as slices pork. Portion can be considered generous for SGD$5.
Noodle is nicely cooked, other than the chilli sauce, you can still taste the hint of vinegar used. Overall, quite a decent bowl of noodle that I don't mind eating again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the worst Zhi char I had. Ordered mi tai Mak hor fun style seafood - sauce is salty and no other flavours. Nothing on wok hey flavour. Total disappointment. In addition this dish cost $8 plus for single portion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food ok not bad. Hor fun bland. Sambal sweet potato leaves very good. But ex. One plate $12.50! Crazy for such a cheap vegetable. Moreover tell us no Small portion only Medium portion when the menu indicated there’s a small size price. $10 actually which is also not cheap. Wong visit this tze char stall again. Service from a Malaysian lady also not so good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This fried carrot cake shop is well known. The black carrot cake is delicious, slightly moist and great caramelised taste of the sweet black sauce. At $3.50 for a small plate. Great for an early morning breakfast.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice coffeeshop. Overall the stalls here serves good food. The famous ones are the fried carrot cake, Teow Chew mee pok, and most recently Meet4meat. The rest of the stalls are pretty good too! The zi char stall is our to go neighbourhood zi char. They serve some special dishes which are not in the regular menu. I like the Malaysian style curry bee hoon and mee!
