A mild forest adventure where a lot of different flora and fauna can be found, its a hike with a mild difficulty where 3 different historical sites can be found, the seah im bunker, keppel reservoir and japanese memorial, the difficulty can vary from a few factors, the time and weather conditions, if you choose to go there after it rains, remember your hiking sticks and gloves, and if you choose to visit at night, bring your hiking pants ,long sleeved shirts, insect repellent, flashlights and a friend, i won't recommend this hike to the lone female, always bring a few friends if you're hiking at night.

May seem creepy at first but if you come in the daytime, theres probably other people coming here too! After awhile you’ll enjoy the serenity!

Interesting place... Didn't know my area here has a reservoir... As I'm with my sister only, we dare not to explore further, just only at the reservoir.. ? Will get more friends to come to explore the Japanese tomb and Mt Faber.. Definitely will be back again... Love the tranquil surroundings..

Snake alert! loved the near seclusion and off beaten adventure and was going to give 5 stars when I saw a snake. Initially it looked like really tiny -about 15cm -and warned a group of 7 to tread carefully and, true enough, just like NEA's advice, it slid away surreptitiously. In a state of disbelieve, I wore my knee high socks from a distance. After they had left, I proceeded on that path. The snake CAME back again on the path. To my nightmare on elm track, it was about 1.5 metres long! I was panic stricken but the snake appeared to be worried too and slid away.

One of greatest hiking trails. Hope Singapore preserves more natural hikes like this instead of the man-made one.

Nice hike! Good to go in the morning to enjoy the crisp air. Be bold to go through the dense thickets, with the aim of going up. Then won't get lost as it'll lead to Mt Faber. :-)

One of the more picturesque and hidden trails in Singapore, not far from Vivocity. Ideal for those looking to try something different, as compared to NParks trails such as Macritchie and Chestnut Nature Park. The water glows a natural emerald colour, and it can be reached through a short climb taking about 10-15 mins from the entrance. Be prepared for a little mud along the way, but the mud isn’t very deep and it is only for a short stretch. Ideal to start the hike from Seah Im carpark, which is about a 10 minute walk from Harbourfront MRT. The entrance to the hike is located in the left corner of the carpark; look out for an opening in the fence next to a large tree. Instructions on how to complete this unmarked but defined trail is enclosed in the attached photos of this review. Have fun!!

Well, for one it is on State land so trespass at your own risk! This reservoir was on the old maps since the early 1900s. First as a water source (hence the name reservoir), then as a swimming hole for British soldiers, followed by Japanese soldier. There were reports of two drowning of British soldiers… perhaps that caused the abandonment of the pool. I expected it to be eerie and quiet. Fret not, go on a weekend morning and alone you shall not be! There are many hikers (trespassers ?) along the same route, one kind soul even offered directions, turn left at a junction and then a right into the jungle vegetation. Cross a cement bridge to arrive at the pool. Looks like some work being done at the foot of the hill. And what’s the story of No. 11 Keppel Hill? That’s for another time :).
