The chwee kueh is cooked with vegetable oil. It is firm yet still soft to the bite. Chye poh also very fragrant and nice!
One of my go-to stalls even as a side dish whenever I come by Bendemeer Food Centre for a meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kovan Chwee Kueh at Bendemeer Road Market deserved a 5 starssss for their customer oriented service despite the long chaotic queue! Chwee kueh quality is good too.
Why go to jian bo at tiong bahru market & let them vent their anger on us? I dont get it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First hawker food after being away for weeks - chwee kueh at Bendemeer FC (while waiting for Singapore Bao stall to open). Jet lag means I m wide awake at 445 am to slow jog from Lavender to Bendemeer FC.
It’s a joy to see the usual morning breakfast queues in a neighbourhood eatery.
Over at the other city, for safety reasons, there are certain morning hours one w avoid being outside/in a Q at certain places.
Here, Q first; talk later. Love Kovan chwee kueh - full of cai por.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Traditional Chwee kueh at budget price! Freshly made and streaming hot, it is soft and chewy. The pickled radish (chye poh) and chili sauce blend in perfectly.
Costs $1.50 for 5, $1.80 for 6, $2.40 for 8. That is 30 cents per piece.
Where else can you get food at such a price in Singapore these days?
Located at the popular Bendemeer hawker centre, just next to Boon Keng MRT, this hawker centre itself is hidden gem not to be missed.
