โ โ โ โ โ Ordered hot plate tofu but the tofu was sour, thinking itโs us, we went on to try the sauce and even prawns are indeed sour. The $12 stingray was also a very meagre portion that probably look like $7.

โ โ โ โ โ This hidden gem provided a very pleasant surprise. Tried the hot plate beef cubes, sting ray and cai po omelette and they were great and comparable or better than most other zichar places. Canโt believe it isnโt more well known!

โ โ โ โ โ We know this coffeeshop to be famous for the Fried Hokkien Mee. Tonight, at 8pm, we arrived, relieved to know that this coffeeshop can host a party of 5pax (some coffeeshops turn us away because they only have the capacity to monitor 2pax in this pandemic).
Alas, the Fried Hokkien Mee was sold out. We stumbled upon Lagoon BBQ Seafood. We ordered:
1. Yangzhou Fried Rice (Excellent. The best YZ fried rice i ever tasted in SG. Got wok hei and each grain of rice is gorgeously evident)
2. Salted Egg Yolk Sotong (Excellent, Tasty and Crispy)
3. Sambal Kang Kong (Good, could be spicier with more sambal)
4. Sour Plum Pork Chop (Excellent. Umami)
I have lived in the east forever and I never knew of this Tze Char place. Well, I'd be back. This will be my go-to place in future. Move over, Hokkien Mee.

Sze-Char with highball ?, beer or stout from tap. Fried rice, horfun and stingrays cooked in two - butter and sambal. Curry rice sets with sunny side up ? is awesome too. Not your usual coffeeshop but booze with your locals
