K	Kwan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This ace is great for soup and pumpkin rice. But their dishes or the fried pork i tried is only average. I'd say out of the soups I've tried I'd rate them in this order, pork tripe, watercress, apple-pear and salted veg w duck. Pork trip is the best, maintaining the porky flavor without an excessive amount of pepper added. The salted veg w duck faired the poorest as it was just too salty.

By the way, you are entitled to one soup refill! I wasn't aware of this and ordered 2 soups in the past until I noticed another table doing so. I guess they don't really publicise this. I would recommend the steam egg and the cod fish as well.

H	Henry Christian on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've always loved the lotus root soup from Lao Huo Tang. One of the, if not the, best lotus root soups I've had from a restaurant. The best part about dining in here is that we're allowed to top up our soup (limited to once per soup order). Which is great because you can share a bowl of soup between two and order the other dishes. My favourite non-soup dishes here are: Eggplant with minced meat (tasty and not oily), steamed egg (smooth and silky), and cuttlefish kangkong (strong shrimp paste taste with generous amount of cuttle fish). I've read other reviews that mention the price for the dishes here are on the higher side. Yes they are, but you're paying for the quality of the food. Dine-in service was attentive and efficient.

There was plenty of ingredients and the soup was flavourful. Plus point: soup is refillable and service is good. Price was around $43 for two pax.

We order 1 brown rice, apple and snow pear soup with pork rib, barley with winter melon. The chili with dark sauce is on the spicy side. It goes very well with the pork ribs. Barley with winter melon is sweet and the seeds are chewy. Brown rice texture is just right for me. Pork rib and pear are soft and juicy. Noted that the brown rice size is standard. We went on a weekend for dinner and there's a long queue. However the waiting time is not too long and the environment is condusive and comfortable. #ILoveLaoHuoTang
J	Jia Zhe Chai on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lao Huo Tang has good quality food. There is a good variety of zi char dishes, and their soups are some of the must have items (as the shop name might imply). The service is good and the waiting time for the dishes to arrive was not too long even during the lunch crowd. One downside the price is a bit higher at this type of outlet compared to their food court outlets. However I feel it is worth eating here.
