Always quite a queue for this stall. The stall owners are polite and friendly. Food was very average and nothing really stand out as compared to other braised duck stalls which I have had.

This store, both times my father patronised, has very poor customer service and crowd control. He was here first and already made order. The 2 fellows on both occasions, came in later but the boss served them first. The second time, on the 16/7/22, even, the fellow shouted at my father to queue up,but the boss kept quiet and served that fellow first. What kind of attitude is this?!

One of the better duck rice stalls in this area. The duck meat is excellent and the rice is fragrant too. Be prepared to queue for a long time during weekday or weekend lunch time.

I was mildly surprise when I saw that there was no queue around lunch time. Ordered the braised duck rice, thigh meat, and added liver and feet. The liver was on the dry side so I would not order it again. The meat is perfect though! Crispy skin covering juicy, well flavored meat. This has definitely become one of my to go for lunches!

Braised duck breast meat rice ($5.50) - not bad, though the meat was slightly on the tougher side. Mostly boneless. The rice was plain.

Feeling curious, we wondered if it was worth the wait. A queue has started before lunch hour. The braised duck was well marinated and tender. Not too salty. Though price was rather steep for a plate of special request braised duck thigh rice. $7 a plate. A regular plate of duck rice cost less. This stall will definitely be pit-stop when we go Chinatown for braised duck during off - peak hours. Next time, weโ€™ll just settle for regular duck rice and try other dishes from other stalls.

Braising with herb and soy sauce is a delectable style of cooking in almost every different Chinese dialect groups. Though in general, Hokkien style would be heavier on the dark soy sauce and sweeter, Hainanese heavier on the herbs and five spices, Cantonese heavier on the light soy sauce and oilier. The Teochews probably got it perfect. Well Balanced on the braising liquids such that it's not too sweet, salty, oily, or too strong on cinnamon, anistar or five spices to overpower the meats. Thus the quality of meat is very important here, as the taste of the meat and the fragrance of the braise liquid must be present in a good Teochew braise. Peoples Park Hawker Centre has many many good eats and it's fair share of Michelin recommended hawkers. Though here at Lek Kee, you will find a constant daily queue between the tiny lunch hour window they open till they sell out and that's usually by 130pm. Next to Yong Xiang Xing Yong Tau Foo Lek Kee has the longest queue. Though Lek Kee will sell out before the Yong Tau Foo. Duck rice starts from $3.50 though many will add on their crunchy duck gizzard and delicious Braised Pork Belly and Braised Pig Skin, braised eggs. My order today, Duck rice plus Pork Belly, a little 2 last pieces of Gizzard thrown it no charge as finished. Egg, Pork Skin finished. And behind my queue of 3 more, the nice auntie warn them ahead of joining the queue, they are sold out for the day, time check 1.20pm, on Monday. One key point is here, they only serve white rice, unlike many braised duck stall that serve dark soy sauce rice, yam rice etc. This plain and fluffly white rice aside your duck order, will be lightly drenched in their braising liquid. And unlike a lot of Cantonese Roast stalls, where the usual sauces over the rice are oily and salty, the braising liquid is light, umami and flavour laden to accentuate the rice and duck. A bite into the duck and pork belly, and you will taste tender meat with light fragrance of braising and the meat taste will shine through. Not the gaminess or frozen meat bitter taste, but tender umami of fresh duck, fresh pork used here. A nice side of blended chilli is offered as a side, but trust me, you neither need the heat or the distraction. Just the duck, pork on fluffy rice. Braised meat perfection. My order $5.50 with both duck and pork belly. Superb value of a plate of braised meats mastery. And we are just mere minutes away from An Nian Braised Duck and even Michelin Tong Chai Ah Heng Braised Duck. Lek Kee Braised Duck is my favourite. Michelin or not. Come try it and then compare the queue versus the others. 3 Oct 2021 update Came bright and early to takeaway for a hearty family meal. Queued at 11am, done in 20 mins. Ordered half a duck, braised belly meat, pig skin, glizzards, taukwa, braised eggs came up to $32 dollars for a family of four, we had it for dinner with our own home cooked rice. So hearty we couldn't finish all the meat. Fantastic Teochew Duck fare
