My son in k2 greatly enjoy himself and always look forward to his Wednesday English enrichment class. He call it the happy face school. His command for the language also improved greatly. ?

Expensive yet my son often comes home singing super simple songs. Ask him if he watched YouTube in class and his answer is always β€˜yes’! One day, he told me he liked his teacher because she played Peppa pig for him in class.. parents were never allowed into/ near the classrooms and glass panels were covered up. Now I know why they are so secretive about their classes..

My son enjoyed the English Enrichment lessons at Lorna Whiston. I like it there coz they don't burden children with homework. His weekly homework is just reading 2 storybooks, which is good to instill reading habit in children. His teacher also gave constant feedback about his progress in class. ??

Used to be a fantastic management with excellent teachers. However, since they are bought over, the commercial aspect of the business take over the educational aspect. Arrangements for makeup are prioritize over welfare and learning benefits of children. What is left are commercial gains and profits. Sequence of events: 1) My boy signed up for 2 classes and my daughter one. 2) Due to holiday, there is a makeup session . However, the makeup session was scheduled at the time which clashes with my boy's 2nd class. There is no way for him to attend the session. 3) LW management did not have even think of a solution, and parents have to feedback before they come up with a solution - shows the lack of planning from management which penalises students who signed up more than 1 class. 4) Eventually, after 3 weeks, a solution was provided. 3 sessions in 1 day! 1215pm to 145pm 230pm to 4pm 415pm to 615pm And there is another session the next day. In total 4 sessions in 2 days. The arrangement was done without consideration of whether the child can learn, but rather whether they can settle the makeup class quickly. 5) Sent a long email, feedback to management. Suggested that just do a simple refund and solve the issue. Make up lesson is not useful as it is another type of class type or another topic which is not related to the teaching cirruculum flow. Reply was refund is no way possible. My child have to do the make up next term. Conclusion: 1) Profits is the main concern for their management currently. 2) Child are forced to take up a session that is not beneficial to them, to the extend of squeezing 3 sessions at one go. Whether the child can learn, is of lower priority. 3) Child who sign up more classes are penalise. The whole saga comes about because my child have 2 classes and is more difficult to arrange a make up session. Options of sessions given are either other locations conducted by new teachers, 3 sessions in one day, or new sessions formats that will not be useful for child. 4) Management is slow in responding to a child's needs. Makes us feel that their KPI is more profit centric, rather than child centric. Totally disappointed and lost faith of Lorna Whiston as a premium education provider, and we have decided to terminate our 3 years relationship with Lorna Whiston. It’s been heartening to watch my daughter emerge from class with big smiles and so excited to share what she learnt. She looks forward to and enjoys going for classes on Saturday afternoons. As a parent, nothing beats watching your child grow and learn all while having fun. Thank you to the teachers!

Just started the programme for 2+months. The staffs (at level 3) and the admin managers are very professional. My daughter likes the class but as usual she doesn’t comment much. But we looked through the work she did in class, and was surprised that she has been writing a lot. Was told that there will be a parent-teacher meet up at end of the term, am looking forward to that for a meaningful review. In the meantime we decided to start my younger child next year with Lorna Whiston.

Our son has been attending Speech & Drama lessons at Lorna Whiston since he was 3 or 4 years old and now he is already 11 years old. He enjoys his lesson and looks forward to every lesson. His teacher, Ms Karen, who has taught him all these years is a wonderful teacher. Her lessons are always interesting. We can see that our son has gradually changed from one who dare not speak up to one with self confidence. This is all thanks to Ms Karen’s patience, encouragement and guidance for him.

My child started speech and drama with Lorna Whiston when she was in K1. Under the two Teachers, Mr Joseph DeMarini and Ms Karen, she had always looked forward to her lessons. When she started Primary 1, she told me she was one of the few who volunteered to introduce herself in front of the class in Mandarin, which she wasn’t fluent in. Knowing her, she wouldn’t have had that courage to volunteer to present herself in front of an audience had it not been the weekly show and tell at Lorna Whiston. It was the best decision made, to start her with Speech and Drama. Thank you Lorna Whiston and thank you to both the Teachers who have made the lessons fun, engaging and encouraging. She has stopped attending classes but I would have loved to have her continue if it weren’t for her academic commitments.
