Nice and cosy place in the corner of Wheelock Place right outside Marks & Spencer. The food is surprising good for a small cafe. The staff is attentive and helpful. My friend and I had mushroom soup and tomato soup. Then we had jacket potato with tuna and corn fillings and jacket potato with baked beans and cheese fillings. Because of social distancing measures, lesser seats now.

- the scrambled egg $12 is konac jelly texture. not recommended. - egg royale's poached egg $16 is overcooked so is totally dry. smoked salmon is super salty. - coffee $7 is large portion (can share between 2pax) - chamomile $5 tea comes with teapot. - mushroom soup $7 tasted normal n comes with a bun. got shroom bits in the soup. Overall, don't give urself high expectation on the food. for price vs quality, i give 2 stars.

Nothing special for Victoria sponge cake. It’s very sweet . Green tea and coffee was ok.

I came here for a quick bite. I ordered the mac-and-cheese. I arrived around 11:50 and my food only came at 12:25. I’m not sure why it took 30 minutes to serve a subpar plate of mac-and-cheese, and when I asked if the duration was normal, I was unapologetically told “I’m not sure,” and “they’re busy”. If this is the regular duration, perhaps the customers should have been informed. I’ve wasted so much time here. I could’ve had my food elsewhere and left within 30 minutes. Not coming back again.

Tried the Four Scrambled eggs lunch set and it did not live up to my expectations. The presentation was not like the picture at all with the egg placed alongside the bread instead of on it. The eggs were quite bland and not well seasoned. On the other hand, the hot cross buns were quite good, sweet and well toasted.

Service was subpar. Ordered extra avocado and they forgot the order, when I reordered it, it took a long time to come. I ordered a matcha latte as well and it tasted horrible. I gave feedback to the cafe and they refused to take it off my bill. I didn't even drink it. My suggestion to anybody in the area is to head on over to Starbucks or Privé instead for a real breakfast that's worth your time and money. Clearly, I'm never coming back to M&S Cafe ever again.

In need of a place for a quick bite to pacify two cranky (and hungry) toddlers, so we settled down at M&S Cafe in Wheelock Place after our shopping was done. Ordered the Kid’s Cod Fingers & Chips, Crumpets, Cod Fish Cakes and stone-baked Garlic bread. Garlic bread was underwhelming, although the butter was very fragrant. There was hardly any hit of garlic and it tasted more like a naan. The Cod Fingers & Chips were decent, with the chips outshining the cod fingers which were just your pedestrian frozen cod fingers fried to a crispy, dry consistency. The chips were pillowy and warm, and easily the highlight for the children. Cod Fish Cakes were dry, like the cod fingers, and I needed to sip on my water or coffee to have it go down easier. Crumpets were the dish of the day, with the fragrant butter topped off with berry jam compote. It was crispy and crunchy on the outside; soft, chewy and pillowy on the inside. Perfect! Would come back to try their High tea set. Rated 3 stars for good value, but average food quality.
