★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best black bean steamed fish head at Chinatown is here. Try their garlic fried chicken, its their specialty dish. The stew soup is very good too. Not expensive too. But stall is currently on an indefinite break as of 25 May 2022, don’t know when they will be bad.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is really an underrated gem in the midst of some really great steamed fish head stalls. On my visit here for dinner, I had the prawn rolls (hei zou), claypot duck, steamed pork ribs and the steamed fish head in hong kong sauce.
I must say, the hei zou blew my mind. They are not the usual type of hei zou that is has little fillings but full of flour. This hei zou here has a great amount of fillings like prawns, minced meat and water chestnuts and little flour thus making it really easy to down a few at a go.
The steamed fish was also very fresh and there was no fishy smell to it, thus making it a great edition to our meal.
The claypot duck and steamed pork ribs were also good and the sauce is just right for having with rice. Alas we were too full.
Overall, I recommend to try this stall out instead of the usual fish head stalls with long queues.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Usually my go to for fishhead would be Seng Kee. On a Sunday, the wifey craved steamed fish head. So the dutiful hubby complied. On arrival, the usual Seng Kee is kinda too busy, and recently I read a Johorkaki report from Tony about good zichar from this quiet stall. So yup, let's skip the queue. I ordered a sauce steamed fishhead for the missus and a seafood smooth egg horfan. A usual HK favourite. Unfortunately when I reached home, open up the dishes and Tuck in, while we anticipated some earthy smell and taste from the snake head or Song fishhead, this fishhead given had no fragrant, no sauce umami. The fishhead is fresh, but too much of a muddy scent to be enjoyed without an adequate fragrant from the sauces. So that's a fail. My horfan was alright, not the best but plenty of wokhei and a lot of ingredients, but no lard bits. So I guess it's a hit and miss here. Prices aren't expensive, but many similar stalls here doing similar offerings. I guess next time I will go with surer bets.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried their special CNY-only pig trotters at $27 and it was heavenly. Amazing sauce and meat so tender it breaks apart. The accompanying broccoli and dried oysters complemented the dish well too.
Fried rice was on point here. Textbook for me.
