This stall is the best kept secret of the neighbourhood, and also the most faved for any who were patient enough to queue for it. The owner obviously knows how good his popiah is. He takes time to get the stall prepared, does the chores around the stall in the most unhurried manner and has absolutely no remorse making the long queue of customers wait for him to be ready. This is my third attempt; my previous attempt was rejected as the owner simply said he was too overwhelmed by the orders and needed to take a break. Michelin star attitude of a chef! I chose non-spicy version of his popiah in order to taste it as its most original. It is not particularly a large roll, neither is it too packed with the fillings. In fact I think he really can give a little bit more of it, but for the price of $1.70, there is nothing to grumble about. On first bite, you can taste the freshness of the cooked vegetables. Slightly sweet from the peanut bites, it is still al dente at every bite after packing it home. All in all, well worth the wait!
