Laid back setting, located at the corner of Marshall Lane and Joo Chiat Road. Nice place to lim kopi and watch the world go by. There's also a prawn mee stall, quite popular and nice taste.

The food today is disappointing. I ordered what I used to have but the taste changed totally. Horfun is bland and no more wok hei smell. The salted egg yolk bittergourd is undercooked because of the thick batter around it. I am a regular here. Sigh...

The signature mussels are awesome. The Coffee ribs and cereal prawns are very good too.

It’s nice but seriously not worth the price and quite pathetic in contents. $8 per regular bowl!!!! Look at the pic. Hence the 2 ⭐️. And VERY slow service and unless you are a regular, be prepared to wait. A regular or two got served before us and even then, their motion was like slow and super slack. If you don’t mind paying that type of price.....: But not coming back again.

Would have been a good find since the prawn noodle soup is stocky with good flavour. But the price is hard to justify. I would expect from a $8 bowl.

Fantastic old style Zhi Char - recommend the Har Chong Gai (prawn paste chicken) they do a great salted egg bitter gourd (also salted egg sotong-squid and salted egg pork ribs - the best) XO mixed vegetables with long bean, fried brinjal, petai, snow peas, Better to come with a group so you can order a lot.

Wenkangji wanton noodles My intention was to eat crispy prata but Wednesday was closed. So I ended up at Melvin coffee shop There are 2 store that interest me Da dong prawn noodles and Wenkangji wanton noodles. So I go for wanton! Rating Service 4.5/5 Price 3/5 (cost 5 bucks for small on pricey side but inflation WTD) Food 4/5 The noodles was good medium texture blend very well with the chilli. Char Siew texture are on the firm side and charcoal aroma is great! For those that dun like fats may not like it and the fats portion is like 40/60. But is not jilat wen you chew on it so kind of personal preference. Wanton portion only gives 3 that why I can’t really have a good remarks on it lol. Oh btw when I search on Google the Wenkangji seem to have another store at town area.

Referring to the Melvin Zhi Char. One of those rare gems you stumble across. Reviews seem poor but the quality of dishes were absolutely mind boggling considering the price. A friend brought me here and after a few days we returned again. And again. The sweet sour pork was crunchy but nicely.drenched in sauce, the outstanding dish was the minced pork tofu, Thai chicken and the salted egg yolk squid..will return definitely
