It is an absolutely mesmerizing audio sculpture installation. You gotta have the time to stop and listen before you realize that it isn't a piece reflecting on our desire to document every moment with photos and selfies; but rather an audio piece allowing one to discover Singapore through the soundscape.

24 Hours in Singapore aka The Mirror Balls is Baet Yeok Kuan (麦毓权) installation of five large stainless-steel spheres with audio recordings of instantly recognisable sounds in Singapore's landscape. Lean into listen to recordings that reflect daily life in the Singapore, including the sounds of traffic in the heartland, neighbourhood parks, wet markets, coffee shops and MRT trains. Baet merges sculpture and sound in this installation, attempting to bring Singaporean's every lives into the realm of art. Baet's outstanding achievements in the arena of art, won him the distinguished Young Artist Award by the National Arts Council in 1995. Baet Yeok Kuan was born in 1961 in Singapore. He graduated with a Diploma in Fine Arts (Painting) from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1987 and received his MA in Fine Arts from the University of Central England, Birmingham in 1992. He has represented Singapore in various international symposiums and was also the President of Modern Art Society Singapore from 2003 to 2004. To date, he has held six solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions locally and globally, winning much international acclaim for his works. His outstanding achievement in the arena of art also won him the distinguished Young Artist Award by the National Arts Council in 1995.
