Mr Uncle - 1024 Sembawang Rd

Oh Mr Uncle, a hidden gem in the depths of sembawang, a place that only the inhabitants of the North of Singapore are bound to know about. Mr uncles is an open, non air-conditioned halal establishment with incredibly affordable prices. However, don't let the prices fool you, as the food served here are exceptional. I ordered a variety of dishes, the biriyani was made with basmathi rice (as it should be) and was full of flavour, with a little bit of spice coming from the "dum" of the biriyani. The chicken in the biriyani was juicy, tender and seasoned well. Their hariyali chicken was fantastic. Don't be intimidated by the fact that the chicken is green in colour, the chicken was seasoned to perfection with a smokey flavour. I was amazed by the amount of effort that they put into such an affordable dish. However, their naan was admittedly a bit rubbery and overcooked. Nonetheless a brilliant experience, would definitely recommend.

Tumeric chicken with white rice turns out to be bits and pieces of chicken, smaller than popcorn chicken, lesser in quantity than I can imagine. Ordered with vegetables. Imagine it without vegetables? Oh my. Not realistic and refused to change or refund. I returned your food, almost no effort was put in.

This is the place to get your teh tarik craving satisfied. It has normal and large cup. Their large is more than expected. Their food are also great. Has varieties of selections and are made with care and full of taste. Located near the park for those park lovers.

Me and my wife both enjoyed the food and drinks. She usually don't really like Mutton Briyani but to my surprise she enjoyed this one, already speaks for itself. There are many other variety which we are thinking of trying next time.

Tried only the prata and murtabak. Crispy and paired with nice fish curry. Recommended to get the regular murtabak as the large one is just slightly larger with more meat inside.

Mutton briyani was tasty, especially the rice. We also tried Mozerella cheese chicken murtabek, taste good.

Briyani could do with more curry. But still good overall

Had a Seafood and a Chicken Briyani with a Chicken mixture platter. 2 Hot drinks Wait about 10mins for the drinks to arrive, only 3 tables of customers. 20 mins before being served the food. 1 of the staff(maybe the boss) informed that the food are made upon ordering. The bowls of Briyani are steamed upon ordering. With that, was expecting Briyani to be piping hot with steam. That wasn't the case. Top layer of the Briyani was just lukewarm. The seafood/chicken and sauce was at the bottom of the bowl, you need to stir it up to mix it well. But the rice was up to the brim, any digging/stirring will just drop it all over the place, the plate would probably be better or at least the staff should help pour out the rice and food onto the plate by flipping the bowl onto it. Curry accompanying the rice are decently tasty but small qty. 4-5 spoons and they are gone probably can get a refill but just small qty. The grilled chicken are really tasty!! ?? Thumbs up for this. Served with Lemon, gives a good tangy taste! ❤️
