This is where you find one of cheapest and tastiest Nasi Lemak in downtown Singapore! It's as low as 4.5 SGD, and you get 3 pieces of chicken, boiled egg, "teri kacang", and Malaysian sambal. The masala tea is satisfying as well. The so-called cafe opens 24 hours just like the supermarket does. The tables and chairs are dotted the sidewalk, it's good to enjoy breakfast while watching locals.

Due to COVID-19, it was pretty quiet today. There were no tourists. Perfume testing is not available. I took Adult Hindi Class students for an Excursion. We had enough space to walk around and explore Mustafa. Students participated in Item hunt. We had a plan to have dinner at Kebab and Curries but it is closed these days.

I always enjoy visiting Mustafa. I remember when the kids were young, we went on weekends late. And snacked into the wee hours before leaving.

An often neglected place as it is usually crowded by workers and Mustafa's own staff. If there is only one thing for which you can visit this cafe (and its actually the case for majority of its customers) it is the TEA. One of the best Teh C (or more precisely I should say Indian Tea) you can get in town beating some of the most popular Kaya Toast Cafe chains and Indian restaurants). And yes it only costs 1 dollar and price has remained the same since ages. Other things although under appreciated but worth your money are Lassi (Yoghurt drink) and Mango Lassi (Mango Yoghurt shake). They are also serving Samosas, popular Indian evening snack and it only costs 1.5 dollars, cheapest in town and better in taste than some of the established restaurants. Agree its Frozen samosas fried on order but even restaurant Samosas aren't fresh and are made in bulk. Before Pandemic they used to serve excellent Chicken Biryani at 6.5 dollars and a whole lot of really nice dishes like Butter chicken, Chilli fish, all kinds of Naan, chole chagall (Chick Peas curry n rice) etc procured from their rooftop restaurant Kenabs n curries. I hope they start with all those items soon. Now some bad stuff. On cleanliness I will rate them 2 or 2.5 on scale of 1-5. On weekends its always a que which may take from 3 mins to sometimes 10 mins. Don't go there on a Sunday evening as it will be extremely difficult to find a sitting spot. Overall high value for money, low on cleanliness and yes you shouldn't mind being in que with Bangla/Indian workers (they are hard working nation builders....literally). I have been too generous in giving them an extra star but that's my pay back for 15+ yes of excellent Tea.
