It was pretty much raved about and I was missing Ipoh food, hence why not try this? Since it is P2HA, I opted for the delivery option. It arrived within the selected time and were packed neatly, the sauces and noodles separately and the pastries in their own boxes. Tried the Classic Ipoh and Curry Chee Cheong Fun. The noodles were of good texture and did not have the “flour-y” taste to it. However, the sauces were quite a disappointment. The classic ipoh sauce was really sour and I felt that it was mixed with the green chilli sauce. Could have been better. The curry sauce, just didn’t taste close to the actual ones. The amount were insufficient too. Next was the prawn noodles, it came in a generous portion but there were no prawns and the soup was bland. Tasted more like a diluted chicken soup. Had the crispy prawn roll. It was nowhere close to crispy and I wouldn’t attribute it to the delivery issue coz it was just soft like a steam one. The fillings were a tad bit more salty than what was expected. The crispy turnip seemed to be more flour than turnip. The taste was also not close to the ones I tasted in Ipoh. Same goes for the Chicken Sou. Lastly, the egg tarts. Tasted pretty decent, had a good tart crust and egg filling. Not exceptional but good enough ! Having said all these, I feel that there is so much more room for improvements. As a person who goes to Ipoh twice a year since I was a kid, this will not be my go to when I go past it because I have tasted better Ipoh food and dim sums at other food courts too.

Egg Tarts are delish! Served warm, the egg custard is rich and hearty. Real yummy. Ipoh Kaya Puff is decent. Prawn Mee (Large) isn't as big a portion I had expected but it is umami flavour-packed. Minced Meat and Mushroom Cheong Fan is served in a bowl and tastes good. Pretty interesting. Prices are slightly more expensive but food is really quite good. Worth the price tag and calories. Will be back!

This small stall is located inside the Food Republic food court, with only 4-5 tables. The food tasted pretty good but their portions were too tiny, especially the cheong fun (which was fragrant and Q). The assam laksa contained too many land mines (= chilli padi). Nam Heong in Ipoh is famous for their white coffee so it is strange that this beverage is not available here. The staff seem disinterested to work and one of them (a young lady) pulled down her mask every other minute to chat with her colleagues, which is not a good idea during the pandemic.

Disgruntled staff. I know they’re tired but to ignore customers, rolling their eyes. I don’t expect them to greet us with a smile, just be responsive and let us order quickly. The restaurant is relatively empty. People are queuing and the lady at the counter ignoring when she’s not doing anything but staring into space? I’m not sure why but the service is terrible to say the least.

The Cheong fun is basically just kuay teow so felt a little ripped off. The Ipoh crispy turnip were fried in very used oil, so it tasted rancid and stale. Horrible. Also, perhaps they might want to think of a more efficient way to serve food.

Nam Heong caught my eye as I came up the escalator. I’ve always wanted to try the outlet in Starling, Damansara but I was skeptical about mall food. It was 12.30 pm and the outlet wasn’t busy. We ordered the top 2 mains noodles; prawn mee and the Ipoh hor fun. Both the broth were spot on. The soup were aromatic, thick and full of umami. You can’t miss the flavour of prawn and chicken undertones. We wanted to pay to top up the soup but the good guy just gave us a ladle full! The hor fun was “out of the world” tender and silky. Stephanie the outlet manager ( in black garb ) explained they import them from Ipoh. We can’t get any like this in SG ( impressed ). The side dim sum were piping hot and fresh. The “sar kot”, an Ipoh delicacy tasted crunchy and flavourful. The crew were friendly. Stephanie was so enthusiastic about her tarts that we bought a box to bring home. The outlet is pretty and spick and span. It’s worth a visit. !

Sorry but there is no choice that can “select dislike” would give 0 if possible. One of the worst porridge and “Ipoh hor fun” i have ever eaten. Piorridge is really dry and cold. The soup for “hor fun” felt cold and tasted weird due to ingedient seem totally no fresh… Sadly the egg tart is not crispy and not nice at all no long famous egg tart..!! Sorry. Don’t even want to take anymore photo. The food cannot make it. Tried some of the items. Not really cheap. All fail. Understand is at Orchard location. But the taste really cannot make it. So not worth at all. Most of the items my friends gave up after only one bite. Won’t come back again. I don’t post review. But this is so bad that I have to post. The chat siew sou and fried yam all fail. Inside filings not nice at all… ??????????

Ordered Assam Laksa, Classic Ipoh Style Chee Cheong Fun and a Ipoh Coffee… $11.80 mmm that’s quite a large bill for so little.. lol Taste tests… Assam Laksa.. diluted.. no kick.. disappointed.. Cheong Fun.. ??? .. meh! Terrible Coffee?! I have had much better Kopi-O anywhere.. definitely not the standard I would expect from anything that is Malaysian… had BETTER! Not worth the money!
