Its been around since 1958. I remember eating it in front of the old national library when I was young. The soup tastes exactly the same as it did. But the noodle texture and taste has changed. No more of the reddish char siew. But still good, imo. Self help for pork lard. In my book, any stall with help yourself pork lard aka secret ingredient, gets a 4 star, at least. The sui jiao has become the real star. Succulent prawns and full of filling. Pricey but worth it. This place is consistently sold out by lunch time.

Visited their new Toa Payoh outlet. Por Por was leaving when I reached. Had a short conversation with her. Disappointed to say that the standard is different from the Far East Square. Noodle over cooked and chillie is totally different ! Soup has the kind of alkaline taste not as tasty anymore. Didnt manage to finish the plate of noodle thou....

Always wanted to try old school Nam Seng wanton noodles (since 1958) but the stall was closed during COVID-19, previously at Far East Square. Now located at Blk 10008A Toa Payoh North, within Che Kitchen, opens Mon to Sat, 8am to 2pm. Order at cashier counter and get a receipt with order number. Collect when ready. Noodle had a good springy texture, sauce quite pleasant, very much what you expect from Cantonese style wanton mee. Green cut chilli, red chilli sauce and fried pork lard were offered at the side. Char siew was lean, wanton quite plump and good sized. Light soup but still flavourable. Overall nice wanton noodle, worth at least a try.

1008A is right in front of 1008 which is an industrial building. Nam Seng Wanton Mee is located inside Che Kitchen, order your food at Che Kitchen’s counter right at the entrance. Reached about 1:30pm, they said no more char siew, we said sure just wanton mee only wanton works, but in the end char siew was on the plate haha pleasant surprise. First time trying, liked it! Soup has a nice prawny taste (HK style), noodles springy, not salty.. wanton skin was thin and soft.. char siew was unique: not dry, good amount of fat and somehow has a taiwan sweet sausage taste ? Seating area quite spacious and airy..

Old school wanton noodles. Handmade wanton is actually it's namesake - like eating a cloud. But what makes it special starts and ends there. The noodles were average and the charsiew was hard like bak gua.

Wanted to try it since it just moved to Che Kitchen in TPY industrial area with the Zi char on 4 Apr 2022. Reached about 7pm but already sold out. Would try again earlier next time

Never get to try Nam Seng when they were at Far East Square so cannot really compare to the past dish. But based on the countless wanton noodles I've tried so far, Nam Seng's new location noodles are on par with most of the wanton noodles I've tried. Everything was great except the wantons. They were on the harder side. I will come back again if I am nearby the area and craving for wanton noodles.

I used to visit Nam Seng when they were at Far East Square. Its great to hear that they are at Toa Payoh now. Old school wanton noodles that worth the trip. Fresh ingredients at reasonable price. Noodles are well cooked, without any alkaline taste. Char siew is a mixture of fat and lean meat. Tasty aromatic soup with freshly cooked wantons. As you can see 'Ah por' is wrapping those wantons herself. Try to go early to prevent disappointment. Around 30mins waiting time. Definitely a Gem! Highly recommended!
