★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The portion is very little for a $10 medium size serving. Had this at Ion Orchard. Lacking in wok hey and flavours. The cut chilli just doesn’t go well with the noodles. Was expecting more of a sambal chilli sauce.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This used to be my favourite Hokkien mee. But then that used to a year or two back. This visit, I found the Hokkien mee to be lacking in flavour and fragrance.
At $5 per plate, it doesn’t stand out amongst the competition in terms of both price and quality.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Long waiting time.
Those who like it dry will like this.
Yellow noodle mix with bee hoon.
Bee hoon suck up all the umami essence to create the flavourful Noodle.
It good but don't stand out much to me.
Come with Sotong and prawn.
5 sgd for small.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tasty and flavourful. With prawn and squid slices cooked just nice. This shop only provides fresh sliced chilli padi with soya sauce, (which traditionally was prepared) unlike most Hokkien Fried Noodles which provides their handmade belacan chili sauce, that many may prefer. I like this version too as you can savour the prawn broth fully. It comes in $5 or $8 per plate. Quantity is a tad smaller as compared with others in my opinion.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really really long 45mins wait. They did not give any wait time estimates, which would have been most helpful. When i first received the dish, was not impressed. It looked ordinary and dry. With the 1st mouthful, wow, impression totally changed! Very flavourful stock, with great consistency. Noodle texture was nice, with a good crunch ?. I would go order off peak, to minimize wait time. A good sambal chilli would be a perfect complement.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I like the fried prawn noodles as it was fragrant, not oily, drier and not salty. Long after you had finished eating you could still taste the sweetness in your mouth. I suspected that alot of MSG was used. Unlike most other fried prawn noodles that come with a spoonful of sambal chilli on the side, it came with a saucer of fresh cut red chilli instead.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Finally got to try this famous hokkien mee, but at the stall at Hawkers’ Street @ ION. This dry version with sliced chilli is unique. The noodles were full of wok hei and were actually quite tasty. However, the prawns were too thin and really difficult to eat, especially when the shells were not peeled completely. The amount of ingredients could be a little more generous.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the supposed must try’s at Old Airport Road. I haven’t been very excited to try this as this hokkien mee is the dry version (I like it wet?) and served with its sliced chillies instead of chilli sambal/paste/sauce. However, I put all bias aside and queued for this, all in the name of good food reviews. Haha no lah, actually I only bought it because there was no queue
I was duped though, as I realised they utilised a buzzer system and hence, no need for punters to gather around the store. I ended up waiting 45 minutes on a Sunday lunch for my noods. It didn’t disappoint though! Even though it was dry, it still had a creamy taste and had a deep, rich prawny flavour. The sliced chilli went well but I felt its direct, unadulterated spice masked the noodle’s taste a little. It was $5 for the smallest portion and yes, it was a little small. I was only 3/4 full and felt a little unsatisfied after the 45-minute wait again. Will return again to purchase a larger portion to share!
