I love Ruth! I had no connections whatsoever that brought me to Ruth, but I learned of her after having listed out several optometrists with higher credentials who offered specialised optical products (I wanted scleral lenses). I travelled from Bukit Timah all the way to Bedok because she wasn’t only qualified, but she proved to really know what she’s doing (unlike one fancy optical store in Bukit Timah with an optometrist who possesses a masters but makes a better salesman than an optometrist). Her products are also priced competitively, and I’d prefer to go to her than to Owndays. While I went to her store intending to get scleral lenses, I also found a nice pair of ESPRIT sunglasses and decided to get prescription in the lenses as well! She really knows her stuff, and she’s an honest business woman, so I’d recommend going to her even if it requires travelling a little. Singapore ain’t too big anyway!

Very calm, friendly service although I visited near their closing time without realizing. The optometrist made thorough, professional checks just like being at the eye clinics, and made sure my daily habits were incorporated in her prescription, eg how much computer use, how i use my devices.. hit the mark with all my needs. Recommended!

Ruth is extremely thorough, experienced and knowledgable. She’s able to diagnose and prescribe solutions for rare conditions. She’s an amazing professional who’s always pleasant and friendly. Have been going to her for years, as she is also very good with kids with special needs. So grateful for my ex-colleague’s recommendation. Even though we moved far away, we still come back here.

Been going back to Ruth ever since our first visit about 4 years ago (we have not been to anywhere else since then). Pleasant experience every time. Very patient and accommodating. If you have kids who need glasses, this is the place to go to. Even though we've moved further away from Bedok we still keep going back to Newman Optics for all our optical needs. Highly recommended definitely.

Introduced by a Taiwanese friend who took her kid here to get the eyeglasses then we started to take our kids here since 5 to 6 yrs ago. The owners are very friendly and helpful, most important are very professional as they have the full set of instruments/equipments to examine the eyes not just the eyesight but also the eyeballs/structures/lens,... Almost like the clinic std no need to mention to compare with the other general optics shop Strongly recommend to get the Orthokeratology (contact lens) for the school kids who can clean the lens themselves, that will very effectively help control to avoid getting worse during their school years

Our family has been going to Ruth and her mummy for over 6 years now. We truly appreciate her dedication, professionalism and consistently authentic atittude. I personally love to engage in extended conversation with Ruth's mummy, such amicable and knowledgeable lady. These ladies have certainly set the bar high! We are grateful to have met them.
