Paninoteca - 12 Marina View 01-04 Asia Square Tower

My girlfriend and I originally wanted to go to DOC Italian but we didn’t have a booking so a staff member suggested we went to Paninoteca instead, which is just around the corner and it’s apparently owned by the same management team and they serve exactly the same food. The experience however wasn’t that great. Let’s start with the positives: The service was very good, polite and friendly. Both staff members we interacted with were very nice. The negatives: My pizza Margherita was with olives for some strange reason. It may have been specified in the menu, I’m not sure, but I’m a pizza lover and I’ve never seen pizza Margherita being served with anything else but tomato & cheese. It’s arguably the most famous Italian pizza in the world and the recipe is well known around the world. If you wish to add olives, please don’t call it Margherita. My girlfriend ordered spinach ravioli which took ages to arrive and the portion was cold and very very small (I offered to buy her a magnifying glass to see better ??) In the end we paid even more than if we stayed at DOC (we compared the prices). It was SGD70.35 for 1 small pizza, 1 small pasta, 1 can of coke and 1 apple juice which is slightly overpriced especially if you consider that it’s a “sandwich shop” not a restaurant.

Nice friendly and cozy place for a quick bite. Staff there is friendly too. Food is pretty decent. Pizzas there are quite good too. Just opposite of Maxwell house.

Truly authentic Italian Panini in the heartlands of SG! Portion is good and tastes just like the ones you get anywhere in Italy. Will come again! It's a hidden gem!

The best place for authentic Italian panini. Many choices of toppings to choose from. I went for the Vegetarania and Capricciosa with extra mozzarella and they were both amazing! Quality ingredients, fresh vegetables and well seasoned, loved the artichoke and pumpkin cream. Mozzarella was super creamy. Focaccia bread is freshly baked, which makes the difference. Will definitely return to try other panini.

Bread is crispy and thin and love the way it combines with the ingredients, however I didn’t like it cold, like kind of chilly cold not even room temperature cold. One serving is decently sized but honestly overpriced in my opinion, and the prices look weird like $14.55, even for something that doesn’t even have meat. They serve complimentary water though which is nice. Our olive bread had a lot of olive oil dripping out which honestly defeats the purpose of including it in. Became quite messy to eat.

Best. Sandwiches. Ever!! All ingredients thoughtfully put together between fluffy slices of freshly baked, fragrant bread. Honestly one of my favourite restaurants in sg ?

Devoured my Vegetarania Sandwich (pumpkin cream, roasted peppers eggplant zucchini and onions) within minutes. Fantastic panini but ingredients were a tad paltry with its price point. Saw prices shot up since they relocated Asia Square but it’s reasonable I suppose. Happy to have anything other than subway so no complaints.

This is a sandwich bar under d.o.c. Apart from the sandwiches, you are also able to order from the d.o.c menu. Love the al fresco outdoor dining vibes. Free bread served before our meal, dipped with olive oil and vinegar. Pizza crust was light and delicious but ham was dry. Love the prawn aglio olio, prawns were fresh and linguine was al dante! Ended off with a good and moist tiramisu!
