★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thought we would have a quick picnic on the beach last evening, we got just two items from the Picotin Express at Big Splash (now Coastal Playgrove), East Coast Park. A small Hawaiian Pizza and the Spicy Sausage with a slice of sourdough. The pizza was great. Super thin crust and tasty tomato sauce and cheese. But the Spicy Sausage was a huge mistake. The sausages were sliced and swam in a gooey bouillon and sugar “sauce” that was at once sweet and extremely salty. Caramelized onions alone could not have made the sauce that sweet. It was simply a terrible dish. The taste of that bouillon concentrate in the sauce lingered in the mouth for hours. We were sorry we ordered that. The two stars were for the pizza and the person who took the order.
