Plate Restaurant - 1 Gopeng St

Came to celebrate my mum's birthday this evening. Food was really really good. The seafood ( crabs, lobster claw, big oysters), was very very fresh. The main highlight for me was the CRAB. The black pepper was outstanding in my standards, the sauce was slightly peppery , umami deliciousness that had me heaping on plate after plate. The chilli crab was very good too ( though i am a black pepper die hard fan:D ) The ribeye steak was good but slightly chewy , baked salmon and grilled prawns was good. They had a large selection of hot teas, coffees, iced cranberry and lime juices. The dessert table had my favourite durian pengat which was delightfully not as sweet ( with a tinge of caramelised bitterness) as you will find in other restaurants. The pasta was really nice and well portioned, the nyonya laksa was packed with a good punch of coconut flvr. The muah chee was fantastic. And last but not least, service was impeccable. Plates were cleared almost immediately once you are done. They even provided a small cake and sang a bday song for my mum. Will i come back for more? 300+ for 6 people is a very very good deal and yes i will be back for the black pepper crab and chilli crab with mantou ❤

Service was great especially from the Indian waiter in charge. We were early and when the restaurant opened, he came out to tell us. The food was excellent especially the lobsters. We took the wine TOP up and the wine flow was fast and without prompting. An enjoyable evening

Came for CNY lunch. Delicious spread. Enjoyed it very much!

Not expensive and food is quite nice

Had their buffet breakfast. Spread isn’t as extensive as the 5-star tourist hotel. It has all the basics, cereal, porridge, salad, eggs, bread, fruits, sausages, bacon, harsh brown, local noodles, etc. $29+++ per pax. No reservations needed.

The lunch buffet is good value for money because of the 1-1 citibank offer. Not a huge variety but there are enough choices and the food quality is good, especially the sashimi and Alaskan crab legs. There's also a nice selection of cheeses and dried fruit. Nice cosy place with a view of the pool, and friendly and attentive service.

Went for dinner. The recommended beef is good, the other dishes average. Main dish serving and topping up is fast. Seafood soup quite salty but onion soup ok. Salad and desert spread is ok, except didn't expect the unusual ice cream brand. Customer service and plate clearing average. Definitely areas for improvement would be desired.

It’s my 3rd time here! This time I’ve brought my family for a post Xmas lunch! I like their adequate Japanese spread! I’ve fall in love with the cheese! Today they don’t have my fave soft shell crabs! However, the mango Xmas cake has stolen my heart! The cream is mango & the inner layer is very citrusy! I am taste grape fruit! It’s very refreshing!
