An old time favorite but the queue pales in comparison to the other stall at Lor Ah Soo. This is my preferred stall here. Chilli is potent with taste of dried shrimp, the pork lard and vinegar is self service. Probably the reason why the initial taste before I added the vinegar was not what I remembered it to be. After adding a saucer of vinegar, still the chilli is overpowering, but I did ask for more chilli though. The ingredients were definitely fresh and you can feel the pork in your system right after the meal, something somehow does not make this the tip top choice. The soup is not exactly at the level of Tai Wah but is better than most places. The ingredients felt detached from the soup which I think is probably the missing link. And yes, Yam Mee and Fa Ji is just a short drive away at Kovan.

To see how good the noodles were, I decided to da pao the minced mee pok. Surprisingly it was good, noodles seasoned well, the mince pork has its own taste(compared to most stalls i have tatsted) with the soup broth before tossing to the noodles. The best part ws the dried fish. Rarely you get served dried fish for $3.50 bowl of noodles

Punggol noodles. Hand make meat ball standard has drop. Not as Springy as before. The noodle is still good and spicy. Careful if you not a chilli fan can be quite spicy for some.

Punngol noodle is you mee version. The noodle is ok. No alkaline taste. What stood out is the minced pork ( which is not minced ) and hence you get to taste them Better. The meat balls are handmade and juicy and flavourful. And mind you, uncle is one armed without fingers. Really commendable that he continue with the passion to hand made those meat balls. Hence I have to give uncle a 5 stars. Chilli is very spicy. Go easy if u can’t take the heat. Stall owners are very friendly and true teochew. Always have a Q But the wait is not long.

Ermm... the meatballs are really not bad, but the noodles texture somehow is off and not my liking. Was my first visit, overall i won't come down for this but definitely should support those disabled hawker owner who is very independent like this uncle.

Good choice in this hawker centre which has many good food to choose from. Would expected more ingredients though ? since the bowl I ordered is called ‘Signature Noodle’

Another stall with a long queue. Decided to join in the queue to check out their noodle. Reached their stall and was immediately greeted with the long queue, however it moved pretty fast. It didn't took me long before it was my turn to order. Apart from the standard minced meat noodle, there were various options to choose from. Heard a lot about their homemade meatball, therefore went for the meatball noodle. Noodle was slightly overcooked for me, texture of the noodle was a bit soft. Secondly, i think the sauce was very diluted probably because the noodle wasn't drained well. The handmade meatball on the other hand was fantastic. It has a nice texture and it was well seasoned. Portion was quite generous. Overall, the noodle was not bad. They do sell their marinated minced meat separately. if I didn't remember it wrongly. it was SGD$12 per box.
