Crispy batter fish and chips stayed pretty crispy even after takeaway. The batter was light, but on the oily side - even after the hawker placed a folded kitchen towel underneath. The use of dory fish did not complement the batter given the amount of moisture in the meat. The fried bun was pretty good too, with the bottom maintaining its crispyness. Baked beans and coleslaw were OK. Fries were below average as they were hard, cold and tasteless.

It is very hard to complain anything about this friendly store as everything is nice and comfy. The Black Pepper Chicken Chop and Crispy Batter Fish is a must try. I also love the buns. Very comfort food and gives a traditional western food feeling.

Affordable and tasty western food - my favourite is their chicken burger. The patty & cheese goes well together. Another top favourite is their chicken cutlet. A must try if you are in the area.

Roaming around Telok Blangah Crescent Market & Food Centre, there are hardly any stalls opening on a Sunday evening. We noticed that there are two Western Food Stall located diagonally opposite and the number of the patrons between the two stalls is simply too much. As soon as I saw the menu as illustrated on their signboard, I was overjoyed as I kind of miss Western Food with Fried buns. What an irony! When we were young, we skipped having the buns as they were too full for a meal but nowadays, we seldom see Western Food Stall come up with such fried buns anymore. With the crowd, the buzzer comes in useful when alerting patrons to collect their food when its ready at the stall. The crispy batter fish was out of my expectation and gave me a total surprise. In fact I was looking for tasty fish & chips and this matches. The bite on the batter was totally crispy and the fish meat was tasty. No doubt its $9, I would said the money is well spent for the fish. Perhaps if you ask for any improvement from the plate of items, I will like to comment that the coleslaw has room for improvement. The chicken chop was a good traditional meal with deep fried bun, coleslaw, fries, baked beans. Chicken chop was tendered with some charred edges and the generous serving of brown sauce that covered the slab of meat had make this meal completed. The style and presentation of the Western food gave me a nostalgic feel and definitely one of the stalls I will revisit if I'm looking for Western Food with fried bun.

Very nice chicken chop. old school taste. The black pepper taste better but both are good. Eggs are side orders .the only complain is the meat is too little and sliced too thinly. There is an option to add meat for $4

Not everytime can find good crispy battered fish. Its very crispy, fish is thick and not too battered. They deep fried the bread for extra fragrance and texture. I used to just buy the fried bread for tea break. It taste so good when sandwich with coleslaw, fries and chilli sauce. Yummy...

I ordered just one fish and chips and said 3 times I don't want beans. I got home and found out I was given all beans, no slaw. Displeased. The food itself is ok but not worth $9. Will not return.

Came here for the battered fish and chips but was told only chicken cutlet and chicken chop left. Ordered both and have to said it’s really the old sch western food with beans, coleslaw and fried bun. Taste wise is ok but nothing to shout about. Have to come back another day to try the fish and chip.
