Russian Language Center in Singapore - 46 South Bridge Rd

I have been taking Russian lessons at RLC via Zoom for close to a year now and have completed the Elementary Course. I greatly enjoyed the lessons thanks to my teacher, Maria Egorova, who is friendly, approachable and makes lessons interesting. She provides many opportunities to practise our speaking skills and grammar. I look forward to pursuing my learning of Russian to the end with RLC, and recommend the Zoom classes as an equally good alternative to F2F classes.

In my past year of picking up basic Russian at the RLC, my experience has been great! I wanted to pick up Russian because my plans of taking the trans-Siberian railway in 2020 were dashed due to Covid-19, so what better way to live vicariously through an alternative that is the language itself ? I enrolled in the START course to first get a sense if I would be interested in this language and also to get a feel of the Teachers and peers. One year on am I’m still continuing my journey! The Teachers are great, easy going and helpful (shoutout to Саша ?) and the peers are great fun, with our suppers (subjected to Covid-19 restrictions) and and conversations about Эстабан. Class size ranged from 4-9 ppl and I found the ability to practice the language with the teacher and peers really helpful for learning. Overall, a great learning environment and hopefully when travel restrictions are lifted, the students can join the RLC’s planned trips to Russia!

I first started learning Russian when preparing to travel in Central Asia. After getting a job offer in Kazakhstan, I signed up for intensive individual lessons, where Dasha and Vavara planned lessons to suit my specific needs, preparing to live in a foreign country. They made learning Russian less daunting (let's be honest, it IS a difficult language to learn!), and I managed to learn a lot in a short period of time. This was the best decision I made preparing for work in Kazakhstan! Besides the great lessons with effective teachers, I really enjoyed to social aspect of it, meeting other Russian students through the many activities and gatherings planned by RLC. Really looking forward to these activities again when life gets back to normal!

I have been attending Russian language classes at the RLC Singapore for about a year. It has been a real joy studying Russian with my teachers (Masha, Olga, Sasha) and my classmates. Classes are informative, engaging, and personal. Not only does the small class size (5-6 students maximum) allow for the cultivation of strong friendships across students, it also ensures that everyone in the class has ample opportunity to participate and to make mistakes in a safe, non-judgmental environment. If you're looking to learn Russian in Singapore, I can think of no better place than the RUC. Highly recommended.

I was fascinated with Russian culture and its people, and of course, their President, Mr Putin, who is quite different from other European leaders. Anyway, I decided to sign up with RLC’s language class to learn more. On the first day at RLC to attend the START class, a big guy walked out of the classroom and said hello to me. I thought he was a teacher from RLC. He’s actually a student from Germany. The student group at RLC is diverse – working professionals, students, and business owners. What motivated them to study Russian? Russia has a rich culture filled with numerous interesting folklores, such as the famous Baba Yaga. These folklores formed part of the amazing Russian tradition. Personally I find many of these folklores pleasurable – always having good morals embedded in the story line, and showing the kindness inherent in Russian culture. And perhaps, some of them would even have contemporary implications? Think “Emelya and the Pike” and the recent “Tang Ping” phenomenon in PRC. Many of the students stayed with RLC for a few years to finish the entire course. I believe the annual tour to Russia played a part, but the teachers’ professionalism undoubtedly made the difference. I was impressed by their enthusiasm and friendliness to share their knowledge and teach us the ropes of Russian language. In two months of learning, those Russian characters no longer looked strange to me :) Anyway, if you are looking to learn a new language, to acquire new skillsets, or just having too much free time, I would recommend taking a Russian language class at RLC. I am sure it would be an enjoyable journey for you :)

Learned about the existence of this school from an SRV encounter - thanks Elena As language is an ice breaker to cultural barriers, looking forward to trying to find options to pick this up for our planned future trip to the great cities of Russia.

I just completed the Pre-Intermediate course in online mode on Zoom. The classes are fun and relaxing after a long day of school for me, and my teacher Masha makes sure to accommodate everyone of different learning abilities. Even though Russian is getting super complicated, the pacing is good and I can always understand what is going on. I hope I can read Russian literature one day. Strongly recommend RLC for anyone who wants to learn Russian!

I started learning Russian as my company wanted to expand our business in Baltic Region. However, over time, I have grown to love the intricacies and mechanics of the language. The teachers are all very kind and helpful. Саша ? especially! Always trying her best to make the lessons as interesting and engaging as possible. She is simply the best teacher EVER! *саша said that we will have no homework this week if we wrote an awesome review here. Strongly encourage anyone who wants to learn Russian to learn from RLC!
