โ โ โ โ โ Usually my go to Indonesian restaurant but after the last 2 visits, I can no longer return.
Last time was because their awesome krupuk was soft and old and yet they still served it.
Today, the ayam gulai (chicken curry) was sad looking and the curry needed another hour on the stove. Sure the chicken was cooked but the balance of flavours was well below normal standard.
The same could be said about the rendang...
And lastly, the rice was soggy... Like you know when you add too much water that the consistency changes... I had to physically spit it out... it was goo.
So disappointing. It isn't the sort of restaurant that will care about a bad review but after going to Sari in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore for over 20 years, I am afraid I wont be back.

โ โ โ โ โ I love their nasi padang. Very authentic and flavourful. Since I'm vegetarian, I'll try to have their sayur ubi, omelette, pergedel, sometimes potato crisp. Still okay I must say. The lodeh completes the meal, so rich is the soup!!!

โ โ โ โ โ Have been looking forward to try for many months at the recommendation of my Indonesian friend.
As others have said, it is extremely expensive. Paid almost $30 for 2 pax. One piece of chicken is $5? Service was also unfriendly with the lady rudely replying when I asked what dish was what (there is no label). Didnt give 1 star as the dishes were generally tasty with authentic Indonesian taste.
Worse of all, the beef had a foul smell. Got diarrhoea the day after ?

โ โ โ โ โ Rendang was dry, lack the spice. Ayam gulai tasted like the normal lemak cili padi at the usual Malay stall. Nothing special about the red chilli and green chilli. Quite disappointing.

โ โ โ โ โ For those who says that it's expensive, try eating at Tambuah Mas.. I ate here with my wife, ordered 2 Rendang, Ayam Bakar, Lemak Nangka, Bagedils, Telur dadar plus 2 drinks and it's $24.. If other restaurants it would cost triple.. Food wise, totally authentic. The rendang and Ayam Bakar. Yummilecious!! Definitely a go to place when Im in Orchard

โ โ โ โ โ Nasi Padang is not my usual fare but the smells coming from this restaurant as I was passing made me want to come in and order something. Iโm glad I did. Beef rendang had the texture of pulled pork. One of the best around. Even the sayur was soft and tasty. I would recommend this place for authentic nasi padang.

โ โ โ โ โ Ni kalau dekat. Hari hari aku makan dekat sini. My plate was 12 dollar. 12 dollar for good food. The beef rendang is to die for. And not crowded also. Not sure in the afternoon because i arrived at 3pm.
