★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My mother made a friend Janet when we went to Scarlet City once to check out the place. Recently Janet introduced her to this man, let’s call him Shang. Shang is a divorcee who works as an oil engineer, he is open to relationships but he wants to be with someone who loves him not for money. They chat over Wechat and arrange to meet up to get to know each other better. But on the eve of the meet up, Shang has to cancel because there is an emergency an oil rig needs repair. He desperately needs 2 itunes card $100 each and asks my mother to help him purchase it as he won’t be able to access places with a 7-11 store. My mother goes and buy it for him. I warned her that this man sounds like he is up to no good (sent her a few links). Then he asks her to help him pay a deposit for a parcel he is supposed to receive. At this point, my mother senses something is not right. My mother got SCAMMED and I wish to alert everyone to be mindful especially if you have elderly parents.
