β β β β β My favour steamboat which i can ask for no msg and "ma la" level. I enjoy the numb feeling from the spices. Foods are very fresh and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful.
I hate some restaurants have time limit, rushing for eating make me angry. But here no problem at all. Went 3 times, definetely will go again.

β β β β β I am not giving the star for the hotpot coz it is very average although ingredients are quite fresh and amount is good.
The 4 stars are for the appetisers and BBQ skewers! I love it so much that nowadays I go back just for it :D

β β β β β Well, amazed that this restaurant has only 3.1 stars at the time of writing. having worked in Sichuan i can say that the taste is very similar to what I had in china. People complain about msg but I Guess thatβs what they would do in china haha. But agree the price can be cheaper.

β β β β β Average quality food but price is far too expensive and doesn't warrant such a high price. $5 for 10 quail eggs. It's crazy. The skewers on the other hand are quite affordable at only $1 each, I ordered $16 of them.
I'm not a fan of Hai Di Lao but I'd top up a bit more to have a better meal at HDL.

β β β β β This is our first and last visit. Food was really bad, for a simple steamboat, the soup tasted like it is full of MSG and eventhough is in neighbourhood area, the ingredients were of higher pricing. The staff were also very rude. For hygiene wise, we were told to self help (meaning all customers sharing the same spoon to scoop) to the condiments area for the sauces as that is the usual practice all these while - condiments were not covered and there were flies flying around. θΎ£ειΈ‘ and skewers were not very well marinated. For the price paid, I would rather top up a bit more for Hai Di Lao for the comfort, quality food, hygiene standard and service. Our bill was $90+ for 3 pax.

β β β β β Food was fresh, place is clean and staffs were friendly. But...
Unfortunately the soup bases are below expectation. The taste is blend and I could feel lots of msg was added, first time had facial numbness from eating too much msg. In addition, they use a common soup top up for all soup base, which made the soup almost tasteless. So it's like drinking tasteless msg soup.
It cost about $60 for 2pax and we ordered quite little(not full yet). For the same price, we could have gone for shabu shabu buffet nearby at amk hub. They do not accept credit card payment and they have service charge of 10%.
Overall verdict: not recommended. 2/5 stars.

β β β β β There is a lotttttt of MSG in the soup. I'm the one that very very sensitive with MSG, only after few spoons I started getting dizzy and numb already. ?. Even my bf is the one ok with MSG but still got numbing effect of MSG from the soup.
However, the decoration of the food is nice. Helpful, friendly and very supportive staffs, fresh vegetables & mushrooms are the plus points.
The price is quite expensive, we only ordered 2 plates of slice meat (1 pork, 1 beef), 1 veggie, 1 mushroom, 1 Tofu, 1 noodle and cost $58+/ 2 ppl

β β β β β $30.80+ per pax hotpot buffet. Located beside AMK's S11. Soup, meat, sauces were alright. Appetizer cold dishes are tasty. BBQ meats not included in the buffet so did not try it. Disappointed that the beef slices are not 'fatty' beef but lean ones. Will recommend if you stay in AMK neighborhood and not a picky person.
