Visited the Gallop Extension and went away impressed. It is not a very big place, the car park is relatively smaller but the colonial houses on the ground is beautiful and well restored. House 5 is now a forest discovery centre. House 7 is now a Botanical Art Gallery. These houses situated on top of a small hill afford visitors a good view of the surroundings and a perfect place for picnic.

A good place to picnic. Not many people there, very quiet. Although near the symphony side has more greenery and less building. Here still a good choice to go.

Went there when they just opened. There were 2 main buildings which are quite not on the same locations, but within walking distance. So don't spend time on 1 building only. Overall a nice place for kid to spend their time and learn something about plants. Overall I would recommend to go during peak hour as you may have to queue outside before you can enter these buildings.

Picnic @Gallop Extension @Botanic Gardens Today was not busy for lunch and we had an ideal weather for a picnic: not too shiny, no rain (well just some rain drops fell but stoped fast), not hot. We like to come here for a picnic and enjoy the breeze of the end of the afternoon.

Gorgeous landscape(great for picnics), beautiful architectural buildings (inventurret and Atbara which were the former French ambassador residence and embassy). In the buildings were well curated exhibits, relaxing veranda and interactive stations for kids. The museum exhibits are lovely and the place a good respite from the heat.

This park is part of the Singapore Botanical Gardens but it separated by a road. It is only several months old and not many people seem to know about it so there were no crowds which was nice. The place looks and feels new. There is an art gallery (of plants) in one of the colonial houses and an information center on Singapore's eco biodiversity with some bits of history thrown in at the other building. There is a children's playground with a short walking trail that connects everything together. Seems like a great place for families and casual walks. The landscape is slightly hilly too which makes it a good workout if that is your sort of thing.
