β β β β β Driven past multiple times and always looks pretty bustling so we decided to give it a try for dinner over the weekend. We got a table immediately and the place was probably 70% full - sat outdoors and it has a pretty relaxed ambience that we enjoyed, especially since it was breezy while we were there. Service was great and the waitresses were friendly and helpful.
We ordered the crab meat fried rice, tom yum soup, prawn omelette and grilled pork collar. Portions were generous and we struggled to finish the food. Overall, we enjoyed the dishes but would probably skip on the pork collar in future. The tom yum soup could also be a little spicier for an extra kick! We have eaten quite a lot of Thai food and this place is worth visiting if you want an affordable, chilled ambience.

β β β β β Thereβs a lot of options for Thai dotted around Singapore, but not so many around Geylang. When it comes to judging Thai food my main gage is authenticity. And I can say this place ticks the boxes. The vibe is chilled and feels like a real Thai bistro that you might in Bangkok. More importantly the Tom Yam soup was good, with just the right chilli kick and sourness. The mussels were a bit too rich in sauce and over powered the mussels a bit. The rice and pork with egg was spot on in terms of taste and flavour, with just enough chilli. The chicken was super crispy and tasty and the perfect partner with beer served in small little cups to keep the authentic vibe going. Overall this is a great little spot if you need to scratch an itch for authentic thai cuisine.

β β β β β Soi 72 has really authentic Thai food, the flavour of the pork Pad Thai and chicken basil is legit good. Now I don't have to travel to Bangkok for Thai food anymore ???
They also serve ice cold fresh coconut.
Service here is superb, staff is friendly and caring. The restaurant is located along Geylang River, it is cooling and the air is fresh here.
Can't wait to come back here to try more of their dishes next time.

β β β β β Pad Thai noodle was undercooked and still rubbery. Fish cake portion is miserably small. Pork collar and Tom yum soup is ok. Worst of all, the prices on the menu was a 25-30% increase from the menu photo last year eg. $8 to $10, $22 to $30. V steep increase but the portion of the food never increase.

β οΈLong post warning!
? Food wise: Overall, it was a very satisfying meal, each dish had its strong fragrance as they were dished out.
The tom yum was on the sweeter side compared to Nakhon, less spicy, but still tasted pretty good! Generous amounts of prawns, clams and fish, also mushrooms!
The crispy pork knuckle was very crispy! Every bite of the skin gave an exciting crackling sound. One would say this dish was made perfectly, with a crispy outside and tender meats, not heavily seasoned too!
Thick green curry chicken with sweet and savoury taste, it had thick and juicy eggplants and tender chicken! But one would think the tom yum and pork knuckle had outshined this dish.
The grilled prawn was big and fat! Dip with the Thai sauce, so good! The veg that they serve the prawns with, drip some sauce and wrap the prawns in it, delicious! Else the veg by itself tasted like thai salad!
Crabmeat omelette, not much taste of the crab meat, wonder was it missed out or something. But! It was still good, very fragrant, the crispy skin and soft fluffy eggs.
β¨ Ambience wise: Nice cosy restaurant!
?? Service wise: Great!
? Price wise:
Seafood Tom Yum $15.80
Crispy Pork Knuckle $28
Green Curry Chicken $12.80
Grilled Prawn w Thai Sauce $15
Crab Meat Omelette $12

β β β β β My son Jonathan recently had a meal here and he mentioned it to us a few days ago. It was raining steadily earlier, but the family decided to drive over and give the place a try.
The moment I drove into the side road, my mind was flooded with memories from long ago. My dad used to bring me here more than 49 years ago for Sunday morning breakfast at a place called Murtabak Malaysia over here. There were food stalls surrounding an old cinema right where the Grandlink Square is now.
We sat down in this quaint and small but cozy eatery and were to enjoy one of the best Thai food weβve had in a long time!
The clear Tom Yum soup was tangy minus the heat we usually have to endure someplace else, but this one was just fiery enough for a good sip, without making any of us chokey!
The prawn cakes were crisp, flaky, and yet juicy and tasty inside.
The long beans took the cake and the candles for us this evening. Nicely done, not overcooked, and that heavenly crunch with each bite, and the way they cook it; with Thai Red Curry for the sauce? Brilliant!
And oh! Did I mention the service? Immaculate! Warm, friendly service staff, crazy friendly owner, and Thai hospitality at its very best from even the chef, who stopped what he was doing to say Hi to us? Iβm touched, weβre happy, and it was a great evening at Soi 72 for the Yeoβs!

β β β β β I have ordered a couple of times using food delivery and decided to visit the outlet to try their food on the spot. Sitting next to the Geylang river, it is a nice cool evening after the shower in late afternoon - perfect for some spicy Thai food. We went for the deep fried seabass with garlic instead of the usual Thai sauce, and it is amazingly good. The crispy pork belly is so crispy and yet moist and tender. The green curry chicken is something I usually order for delivery but the difference is that it is piping hot eating there and then. Overall itβs a 5-star authentic Thai food for me.

β β β β β Unpretentious Thai food that brings you right back to Thailand! Grilled pork collar very tender. Fried rice very tasty. Good "wok hei". Very relaxing if you choose the alfresco dining. Otherwise they have a small indoor section too.
