I am an upcoming model and the excessive use of cosmetics and shooting for hours under strong lights has degraded the natural flawless quality of my skin. Some cosmetic products have also resulted the formation of acne and pimples. I was very distressed due to this because in our profession, good appearance is everything. I was very scared over the thoughts that this degrading condition of my skin would force me out of my beloved profession. I tried natural techniques and other herbal skin products, but nothing helped me. A colleague of mine who is also in the fashion industry, suggested me to visit Specialist Skin Clinic and Associates Pte Ltd in Singapore. At first, I was reluctant to visit, but after her repeated pursuance, I finally booked an appointment and visited the reputed dermatologist there. To my utter disbelief, the skin specialists were exceptionally good and handled my case with care and compassion. After a few skin sensitivity tests, my treatment began and results started to show up after a few successive therapy sessions. The pimples started to reduce and the acme spots faded away. They also gave a very good chart for eating habits that would keep my skin dehydrated and glowing. To minimize the effect of cosmetics, the dermatologist gave me certain formulas, and after following these my skin once again became glowing and beautiful as ever.

I had to wait more than 30 minutes beyond my appointment time. The doctor was polite and knowledgeable. However, I was charged the top consultation rate even though I felt the visit was short (less than 20 minutes) and the case quite simple (as the doctor said: "this condition is quite common..."). I complained to the front-desk and they said "OK" and proceeded to charge me the top rate any way. Then they called me to explain and told me the consultation can even be SGD 280. So why do you provide a range of 90 to 180 at the front desk and on the phone? They said the doctor had to use instruments for the visit - that is true - the doctor was handed a big lens and that was it. No consumable where used. So I am happy with the service but unhappy with the charge as I feel they charged beyond what was due to them. I will not return to this clinic.

I’m honestly extremely disappointed and sad cause the consultation was SO expensive ($180) for just simply acne & scars. I felt like I was charged the maximum bound not because of the severity of my acne, but rather the “long” conversation I had on my skin history. (I think my conversation only took 15-20minutes though) Despite the doctor laying out treatment options, I felt she could have given her opinion on like which could work better and given me validation on the products. She mentioned that the oral/products may not work for everyone, I mean, then what’s the point of this clinic / consultation then? I might as well google myself? I spent $180 just for facts that I could have googled about. Really regretted going to this clinic ☹️

After reading some reviews by others, I decided to write some as well so that more people with certain skin conditions can consider giving it a try here. No doubt, like some reviews here mentioned about the not so cheap consultation fee, but its about the same for most private clinics in Singapore. Dr Cheong was my 4th doctor after I seen 2 GPs and 1 Private dermatologist when I had eczema 20years ago. After 2 visits, my conditions improved tremendously. And I only visit him whenever my eczema flare up due to allergies reaction or stress. I always have full confidence with him for every visit, knowing that my conditions will improve after seeing him. He listens and cares, asking what triggers and making suggestions to help ease the issues. The front-line staff and nurses are nice and friendly too. You will feel welcome.

Have sensitive skin and battled with it for more than 40 yrs. Tried countless dermatologist and found this to be the best so have stayed with clinic for more than 10yrs alrdy and seen all docs. One very good thing is the clinic remains dermatology focused rather than swinging to aesthetics which most derma clinic do. Docs are definitely better than most - they can identify triggers and provide good information on care, side effects etc. if you have battling skin eczema , this is the clinic to come to.

Had a really bad eczema flare up this year and decided to give Specialist Skin Clinic a try after reading some reviews. I was appointed Dr Cheong and he was very informative and patient at answering my questions. My eczema is healing now and it is getting better. I do recommend this place.

Would definitely recommend both Dr Phay & Dr Neoh. I had jelly fish larvae / sea lice bites 2 weeks ago, which resulted in a very strong skin allergic reaction. Saw Dr Neoh, who was really understanding & prescribed me the right medication to get better (rashes were gone within 2 weeks). The team here is very professional and unlike other places that can be pretty commercialised.

Have been coming to this clinic for more than 5 years now for my skin needs (adult acne and also how to manage my skin through my pregnancies). Dr Cheong and Dr Phay are skilled, have excellent bedside manners and are thorough. Their treatments have been effective and they do not push for treatments that are unnecessary. Clinic staff are helpful, friendly and personable. I return again and again for skin maintenance. Recommended them to family and friends. I would only highlight to potential patients that the waiting time can be long sometimes - but that is expected because patients may have unanticipated needs; the clinic staff are efficient nonetheless.
