Steamov - 食尚捞 (Beach Road)

Open till late. Good place for a snack but soup is too spicy for my singaporean tastebuds.

Fresh ingredients and cosy atmosphere with great services provided by staff.

It was my birthday today and I chose to go to steammov as I love to eat there. Reached there at 1230pm, but the sign said it was closed, but the revolving food was going around. The staff said yi come back in 15 minutes and it was still closed even though I googled to see it was open at 11am. I then called the place while standing outside the establishment and it rang forever before someone picked up and I asked what time it opened. The same staff answered it was 11am so I appeared at their door and was met by the same staff which was a young girl with glasses and she seated me very reluctantly and made me feel I was unwelcomed there, even though it was closing in to 1pm already. I love steamov, but not anymore. Thanks for making my birthday feel less than special through bad service staff and making me wait outside an already opened establishment . Unpleasant experience,

the staff were unfriendly towards non chinese customers (aka me). my boyfriend & i had dinner next to a Chinese couple who were talking and continuously commenting on how indian people are there to eat. it was very uncomfortable to be watched and constantly looked upon because of your race. i don't go into restaurants saying "wow there's CHINESE people here".

Wide variety of fresh and quality ingredients (not the cheapo kind of cheese tofu or processed food)! Meats are also fresh. Tasty soup bases with attentive staff who'll refill your soup when necessary. One of the best huoguo places I've tried and have returned a few times. Truly a pleasant surprise as it's rare to find huo guo restaurants with fresh ingredients that are also of good quality, and also come in such a wide variety. And no queue! My only fear in posting this review is people will find out how good and value-for-money the food is, and the shop will start getting long queues...

Watch what you pick to eat. For 4 of us mistook and add up to over $200. The ingredients you can pick are lower cost food on a stick usually you can find from supermarket. The more expensive are really over priced beef and mutton. Soups are for cooking only, do. It attempt to drink, lots of MSG inside. If you want to eat beef and or mutton the same style dip in Mala or other soup, better to spend your money at Haidilao.
