Glad they opened this outlet at Novena Square! Some of the best Chinese pastries with the highlights being the coconut tart and chicken pie. Freshly baked and nicely packaged for take aways with their distinctive green box of 4! Enjoy.

Bought 2 boxes of takeaway, couldn't really remember the price, but it was around $1.5 to $1.8 each. Typically this might be considered expensive but it tastes so good! The buttery crust is dense and creamy, it's more of a pastry than a snack. The custard is not too sweet, blends well with crust when it crumbles altogether in ur mouth. Yum!

Tai Cheong Bakery has few outlets, but the one I patronise is in Novena sq 2. The tarts are very nice, no egg smell like others and it's conveniently located in this shopping with so many shops, saloons and food stalls, there's also Bread talk, long John silver and others, thanks

Just happen to be at Square 2 and I chanced upon a Tai Cheong bakery outlet/kiosk. Apparently this a pastry brand from Hong Kong. Heard many good reviews for this egg tart and decided to bought some to try some for myself. There was a short but fast moving queue, didnโ€™t have to wait long before it was my turn to order. Bought a total of 4 egg tarts at SGD$2 each. I personally like the crust of the egg tart, the crust isnโ€™t that sweet, can taste slight saltiness with each mouthful. Besides that, the crust is dense and crumbly. Filling wise, it tasted pretty much the same as most egg tart outside. Apart from egg tart, I notice they also sell chicken pie and etc. One particular flavor caught my attention, which is the durian and cheese tart which was already sold out for the day. I will come back another day to try.

More flavour in the crispy tart shell than what other shops'. If you're not so into sweet pieces of stuff, I recommend Char Siew Pie and Chicken Pie, with more rich stuffing inside. These two signature products are often sold out before daily close.

I remember back when I was a tiny little bud, where I grew up there was not a lot of options of Chinese food. So I was eating a lot of local food Latin criollo food early in my childhood. My parents rarely cooked at home because of the demand of their job, however they were cooking some fantastic Cantonese dishes at work only during lunch and dinner time for the staff. I didnโ€™t get to enjoy these meals until I was a little older and could be trusted to be around the workplace without causing mayhem. Now my parents believe in social eating and gatherings with friends during breakfast over the weekends. And we use to drive an hour to this other city in which they had a Dim Sum restaurant. Probably one of two in the whole country. And I remember all these Chinese steam dishes coming out, you know the heavy hitters. But for the end my parents always make me wait for the egg tarts. Cause I always wanted to eat them immediately as we sat down. That buttery flaky vessel pastry holding that golden sweet egg custard that seems to have cascaded down from the heavenly gates itself is pure bliss. So yeah this bakery reminds me of my first experience of tasting egg tarts. And this bakery in particular has this uncle who is very kind and says hi to everyone and even cracks a smile or joke here and there. Really great.

Tai Cheong Bakery sells very yummy and fragrant egg tarts of all sorts! Egg tarts is one of my favourite snack and dessert that I enjoy. The skin of Tai Cheong egg tart melts in my mouth the moment it enters. Sweetness of the egg tart lingers after I finish eating. I finished it within 1 minute the moment I start. Thank you! #ILoveTaiCheongBakery
